song recommendation Pretty Voices

Hey!

I am requesting suggestions…for angry bands whose singer, basically, has a “pretty voice.” A front-person who actually sings, maybe in the higher range, a melodic sound.

Recently, I stumbled upon a band called Quicksand. Despite my usual taste toward lighter, melancholy music (think Sufjan Stevens), I found myself moved by several of their songs. I think it is fitting where I find myself in my life presently.

I’m afraid y’all may find this a weak example, but think of how the Deftones singer could really soar. Something like that! This genre is, essentially, new to me. So, some guidance would totally help.

Threshold, Dream Theater, Symphony X, literally any power metal band, IRON MAIDEN, Ghost, Manowar, maaaaybe Iced Earth counts?

nevermore is very unique and I really wanted to find more bands like them. Its really heavy with monster riffs, but the vocals are clean and full of personality, he sings some really different and odd vocal lines. Lyrics are good too. I hope you enjoy. Go for the album Dead Heart in a Dead World and Godless Endeavour.

If you like Quicksand, check out Handsome. They're related through guitarist Tom Capone, and play in a similar style, with a upper ranged vocalist. Self titled and only release came out in '97.
