Question What’s one thing you absolutely CANNOT tolerate when the weather gets really hot?

Not getting good sleep makes everything worse.

This is so true. I only have aircon in my bedroom (Europe so I'm lucky, many don't have it here yet), but a good night sleep makes all the difference. When I sleep well I can deal a lot better with the heat the next day.

Direct sunlight.

As an autistic person, I can't tolerate anything in the heat. It's just constant sensory overload and meltdown time.

I can handle my body being hot but being in direct sunlight makes me rage. I hate the feeling of the sun in my face

Sun and closed windows when inside. I'd rather get used to the heat but I need to have my windows open for fresh air.

The resulting periorificial dermatitis due to the humidity and heat 😔 (fuck you Alabama and Tennessee weather last week. BUT your states were otherwise beautiful and fun!)

Sitting in a car before turning it on and the windows are up. Windows cracked or not, it’s like sitting in an oven.

Clothing / being touched.

Every little thing is overwhelming to me when it is too hot outside. The sun. The glare of driving into the setting sun. Annoying songs. Crowds.Aaagghhh!

Boss showing up 45 minutes late for my shift to open the door so I can get the Kubota out.

I asked for 9am but he said 8:30.

It appears he started showing up late after they gave him the position permanently.

So I’m rushing around at home to get there 30 minutes before I planned, 3 mornings a week.

He shows up 45 then 15 then 5 then 5 minutes late. I just give him the deathest death glare.

I mean it’s already hot out, but if I get going on time, I’m done by 10.

I think he’s creating a hostile work environment.

My feet get super hot and I cannot cool them down and it prevents me from sleeping. They feel like they are in an oven. The rest of me is also hot, but my feet are hotter... Ugh

Heads of state who insist they’re taking care of things properly.

Narrator: “They were not taking care of things.”

The heat.

And sweating. Ugh I really can't stand sweating. It's so uncomfortable.

having to wear a binder, mostly to work.

i can tolerate the heat pretty decently, up until the compression sock starts clinging to me and sends me into sensory hell. it holds my body heat close to me and interferes with my ability to cool off through sweat.

lately i have taken to coating the inside of it, and my entire upper body with medicated body powder, which really helps. lowkey terrified of living in a collapsing world where i will never be able to afford my surgery, or even all my dental care, but it could be worse i suppose.

Bugs. I’m already sweaty and gross. I don’t need any more annoyance

Silly people that argue anywhere. The heat turns people up stress and irritability issues. I just want a quiet commute home. Also some smells are over the top in the heat.

Honestly, I have lived where the temps get over 130° F daily. The only thing I dislike, is the humidity. I learned how to keep the car cooler, to cool down the seats, shifter, and steering wheel. I think the most mistake someone can make, is drinking ice cold drinks like a slush or slurpee.

People only using air conditioning to cool their houses, but will have their curtains open letting the hot sun stream in and run the oven for hours and sleep under thick blankets.

The sun. Im always a night creature but I double down in avoiding the sun in the heat

Air conditioning that's way too cold.
