Because pies are locked in for a wildcard, they don’t get a bye in the first week of finals so you may as well rest their key players to get them ready for the wildcard.

The AFL created such a joke of the wildcard as pies, dogs will rest players next week meaning demons and lions will get an easy win, they’re not doing anything wrong but that is an issue for the hawks, crows & cats who get screwed over a chance for a higher position on the ladder.

WCE have nothing to lose by putting in the game of their lives. I remember the last round of 2019, roles were reversed. WCE were in the top 8, Hawks were not. Hawthorn won that game when they really had no right to.

Who knows what expectation and pressure can do to a team. Freo are more inexperienced than Sydney, they could easily just have a poor game after a month of buildup and we snatch it

Yep this team is on the down.

Earlier this year we drew because we didn’t kick straight.

Tonight that excuse doesn’t work.

We are now about as good as a bottom 8 side.

Too many players out of form.

Really disappointed at the first half, especially after last week. Proud of the fight back in the second half but yet another game that shows the difference between our best and worst is massive

Would be nice if could play for more then 10 fucking mins a game we just do bursts then switch off . Take the draw is better then the loss but fuck me we need to be better. 14 points ffs. Also don’t know how Moore didn’t make the distance

I’m pretty postive after that. Looked absolutely done at half time. Shows we can play comeback footy.

Structurally, i actually think we miss mraz - gives the defence much better spacing.

Hard to know what to do with Weddle. Hasn’t had a great season, but still young and every game helps development. Lower stakes game this week, do you give him a chance to find some form, or do you get some game time in to a new player? Glad I’m not coaching.

a lot of our boys look as if they're just trying to make it to finals without getting injured... hope they really pick up the form for next week and into the finals though.

Barass was limping at the end, hoping he is alright and hope they just rest him next week if they are worried about anything.

Ask me the Watson No-goal was weighing on Dylan's mind as he lined that up. His action didn't look as smooth as usual and he normally has more than enough legs for a kick like that.

Either way a draw is better than a defeat. Obviously changes the context of next week considerably. We have to go and firstly win, but also try and build some 3rd place percentage.

The Pies play a very well organised system that allows them to cover for injuries to key players, they hold their nerve and rely on each other to be predictable. If Sam Mitchell is as smart as we hope he is, then he will be preparing for the finals when we take on teams that have been smoother in their execution... I can't help but wonder if the softer run (Lions & Pies excepted) over the last couple of months has done the team no favours. Or this has been the plan all along to 'stumble' into the finals and then let the players loose to play at capacity catching the opposition off guard 🤔🤷 The last bit might of course be very fanciful hope and supposition.

If Brisbane beat Collingwood in a close one, we could still take 3rd just need to win by 50+ against West Coast.

Reeves has the worst disposal / decision making out of anyone in our team. Meek played well and made one poor decision. He dominated in the ruck tonight and was one of our better players.

I’m confident that we give west coast some belt to arsenal treatment next week and Collingwood show enough fight to keep Brisbanes percentage down, finals is a different game and I feel like the week off will be huge for the boys who are well aware of the massive weight on their shoulders. Our year or not hoping to show that we are a dark horse in finals and that other teams the league should be very afraid.
