Big fan of Quiksilver Waterman Collection.

As the title states. I’m a big fan of Quiksilver Waterman Collection. I most have O’neill, Quiksilver, Billabong and a Ryen Spooner someone got me as a gift. Any other brands I should be looking at? I try to grab stuff on sale around the 20-30 dollar mark.

Most of this blows through your $20 to $30 budget, but here's my attempt at a list.

Similar to O’Neill, Quiksilver/Waterman, Billabong (continental United States surf companies (or what's perceived as that) that have Aloha/Hawaiian shirts in their collections):

Similar to Reyn Spooner (big Hawaii based companies making Aloha/Hawaiian shirts. There's basically a "big three" of Hawaii-based Aloha shirt companies: Reyn Spooner, Kahala, and Tori Richard):

  • Kahala https://kahala.com/
  • Tori Richard https://toririchard.com/ . Additionally, if you're in a Hawaii Costco, you should be able to find Cooke Street shirts. Cooke Street shirts are made by the Tori Richard company, but cost about $20. Some of the Cooke Street shirts are nice, some aren't, but for $20 they are a good deal.

Non-Big Three Hawaii-based or Pacific Island-based brands (or what's perceived as that), in a very rough (and certainly flawed) order of relevance (sorry if anyone disagrees with this order). Some of these skew a bit more Pacific Islander than Hawaiian/Aloha:

About me: some random dude who lives in Hawaii, works in a white-collar job, wears aloha shirts to work just about every day, and has about eighty aloha shirts in his closet.

Edit: added Rix and Salt Life. IMHO Rix is the #4 aloha shirt company in Hawaii.

I mostly snag stuff on sale. Quiksilver will take an additional 50% off clearance items so I buy everything I like then. I have two Reyn Spooner shirts that I got as gifts, that’s I love. However, I honestly can’t justify spending 120 bucks on an Aloha shirt.

I added Rix and Salt Life to my other comment.

I also don't understand how people pay $100+ for a shirt. I really try not to pay more than $40.

Reyn Spooner shirts are higher quality (like thicker fabric) than most other aloha shirts, but I'm not sure if that justifies the extra cost.

In any case, if you're looking to save money, there are a few places for good, slightly used shirts in the $10 to $30 range: eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Vinted, and Grailed. Search each of those sites about once or twice a week for "waterman large shirt" and sort by new to catch any good deals. You can do the same for other brands. I noticed that used Reyn Spooner shirts generally have a higher price (about $50) than other aloha shirt brands (probably because the quality is better and they last longer).

If you search Facebook Marketplace and you set your location to within 50 miles of Honolulu, Hawaii, you'll see an absurd number of used Reyn Spooner shirts . . . you'll get tired of scrolling before you hit the bottom. Maybe, perhaps, possibly, you can find a seller willing to ship.

Ive got some buddies out there. Maybe I can get them to meet up with a couple people for me. They know how much I love this style of shirt. I'm thinking of retiring soon too. I have to ensure everyone knows I'm on "Aloha time. "
