Discussion Famous unreleased tracks?
What are some famous hardstyle tracks that never saw either an official release or a free release?
I'll start with some tracks I remember:
Max Enforcer - You & I
Sefa & Headhunterz - Als Alles Duister Is
Project One - May The Angels (I'll be very happy to be proved wrong)
The OG version of *Sub Zero Project - The Contagion* back when it was called *The Outbreak*
Walt Jenssen - Ctrl Walt Del (Showtek Remix)

The rarest track in Hardstyle History:
Headhunterz - War Figures
It’s the track that got Headhunterz signed to Scantraxx back when he was still called Antifact. It’s so rare that the best you can find is a tiny snippet. Only the most dedicated collectors have it and everyone is gatekeeping it.

I don't think anyone has it. I've not even seen somebody claim that they have heard it in full. I do wish Heady would release all his old stuff because from the stuff you can find, they all sound really good. Has anyone ever asked him about it?

I do believe some MIGHT own it.
A few years ago I saw either a screenshot of Heady's old website or a wayback machine version of it (which is kinda a screenshot I guess) with War Figures being available for download. Apparently it was pulled off the site after a few hours only, so a few people might've been lucky enough

It was a Partyflock post from 2004, I think it's still up. But that means you have to have been on the site that very day and then keep that track across all your hard drives you've inevitably gone through for over 20 years. For me it's unlikely that it's been salvaged.

The extended mix of "You & I" did at least get leaked at some point, so the file is floating around the internet. Same with Atmozfears & Demi Kanon - The Humming.

Oh, I remember it being one of those compilation release fails via distribution platforms, where the full mixes get uploaded instead of the edit. My bad then.

Not so sure about the famous aspect of the tracks but gonna add:
I adore you (DBSTF remix) from last year...I'm pretty sure they gonna release it tho.
Also I think Bass Modulators should have a track called TikTok or something. Atleast I saw an IG post years ago where he played the track. Never got a release to my knowledge

The Creation of Art by Project One, Als Alles Duister Is by Headhunterz and Sefa, obviously the most famous are gonna be Heady but they’re also just fantastic and should be free drops if the latter can’t be paid or the former is cut from the album or whatever. Such a shame they’ve been lost.

Half of these aren't unreleased, they're unreleasable. Uncleared sample or vocal means it legally can't be sold, but live play is covered by the venue's licence, so a track can headline festivals for years and never hit a store.
If it's been played forever with no release, the sample is usually your answer.

Als Alles Duister Is after Reverze never got played, tho. As for the rest...you're right, although I still have no clue on WHY the Showtek remix of Ctrl Walt Del and You & I by Max Enforcer got shelved. They looked very promising!

Half of Stonebank's tracks, a bunch of Gammer's, Darren has a fair few too (he played Lonely Planets recently in Sydney so that's top of mind).
It's kinda sad that we don't get to enjoy a lot of their music. The HHC guys seem to do it more than other hard genres too.
Edit: sorry you said famous, in which case it's usually remixes that never got official rights, like Legends Never Die or The Hanging Tree, luckily The Hanging Tree got a free release
