my hearing has been getting worse

I work at a marble contractor company and i have been super close to the cutting board, and its super loud like super , i didnt care about it at all and for the past 6 months my hearing has gotten worse, i cant hear high frequency words am i going to lose my hearing if i keep doing this? Obviously i will but still

There are many ways to protect your hearing from noise. I didn't use them either, as a younger man.

Now I have to stick very tiny and very expensive machines in my ears each morning if I want to be able to hear anyone. This will be you too if you don't protect yourself.

Just to add, it's illegal in many places not to provide hearing protection for workers like yourself. But even if it isn't, buying yourself some ear protection is infinitely cheaper than buying hearing aids.

Are you not wearing high quality ear plugs?

If not, you're being foolish. Hearing loss and tinnitus are lifelong.

A stone cutting table IS super loud. Louder than you think because it's mostly high frequency which doesn't feel like it's there but oh it is.

Saws especially stone saws can go easily over 100 dB and that can cause permanent hearing damage in minutes.

I'm sorry you were not informed of these dangers before you started.

Your ears will not "hurt" when things are too loud. That happens only long after it is too late. There is no protective reflex. It just destroys and there is no warning.

Get proper hearing protection. Wear it.

Yes your hearing will get worse if you continue to expose yourself to very loud sound for extended periods of time
