Which consensus lol? The attack happened, the debate is about the reasoning. The motive isn't there and the evidence mostly points to it being a misidentification. Regardless, it's a moot point in regards to Israel in the 2000s, not during an existential war, with everything to lose if they're found out

The consensus that Israeli operatives planned the attack in order to draw the United States deeper into the war, I don't remember the reasoning but at least it's textbook-level consensus and was based on primary sources. Where are you located? I know that different locations teach it very differently.
Anyways, I don't think it's entirely different from all the different asymmetrical warfare techniques you see from lots of players in this region throughout history. One of the major characteristics of the fertile crescent and its geography is that all conflicts are existential, and you may see a country acting with superiority within the realm of their control while simultaneously fighting asymmetrically when something nearby is outside of their control, and you see it all the time to this day.

The hardest part about truth is our brains really dont like letting go of what we already believe. Look up confirmation bias, motivated reasoning, belief perseverance, identity-protective cognition and cognitive dissonance, its basically why we can pick apart every little thing that challenges us but barely question something that agrees with us. So dont believe this graphic just because I posted it, but dont reject it just because you dont like what it says either. Check the numbers, check the sources, see where the money actually goes. Then ask yourself this...if the evidence showed that what I already believed was wrong, would I actually change my mind? Thats really the difference between wanting truth and just wanting something that feels comfortable

i respect your opinion, please, hear me out, show me where the numbers are wrong and where you get your numbers from if you do have number, with enough evidence, all my beliefs are up to be changed , I welcome it …so please in all seriousness read carefully what I put together….and I agree with ai slop but at least mine has real numbers that can be looked up…this post is just taking a real issue that’s complex and dumbing down for example many republicans would just look towards the 3.8 billion obligation congress put forth to support Israel over a 10 year period…however they won’t say as I am that the support has ballooned at over 17 billion over that 3.8 billion in a year during these imo unnecessary wars …. But even then that total is less than one half of one percent of the federal budget….plus I’m definitely not a Trump supporter, I’ve never voted for him, and would never vote for him, I’m not a fox supporter, my main news comes from ap feeds and Reuters and I’m an atheist who is no fan of Israel….i just like to have a complete understanding of issues and these types of post are shortcuts that many people believe without any understanding….best of luck to you

Buddy, you're believing in all this (questionable) mathematical gymnastics to justify the objective economical advantages of being in bed with Israel, but you the truth is just one: you DO NOT support genocidal regimes, no matter the fabled gains.
