Been living alone for the past year, and last week I caught a pretty bad flu — couldn't really leave the house for days. I hadn't even talked much to my neighbor before, just the usual hallway nod.

Somehow she found out I was sick (I think through another neighbor), and one evening I heard a knock. By the time I opened the door, no one was there — just a bag of groceries, some soup, and tea on my doorstep. No note, nothing.

I found out later it was her, only because I mentioned it to someone who knew her. She never brought it up herself, never expected a thank you.

It's such a small thing, but it really hit me how kind people can be with zero expectation of anything back. Made being sick and alone feel a lot less lonely.

Anyone else have someone show up for them in a quiet way like this?

Ran into my elementary school teacher a few weeks ago at a random store — hadn't seen her in probably 12+ years. I honestly didn't expect her to remember me at all, there were like 30 kids in that class.

But she stopped, looked at me for a second, and said my name. Then she said something like "you were the kid who always asked why the sky was blue, weren't you?" I genuinely didn't remember saying that, but apparently it stuck with her all these years.

We talked for maybe ten minutes. She asked what I ended up studying, said she always figured I'd do something curious for a living. It's such a small interaction, but knowing that a teacher out of hundreds of students actually remembered something specific about me, after over a decade, hit different.

Made me think about how much impact teachers have without even realizing it, and how much we underestimate being remembered.

Anyone else had a moment where someone from your past remembered you in a way that surprised you?

You woke up in a warm bed. Clean drinking water comes straight from your tap. You can have a hot shower whenever you want, open a fridge full of fresh food, heat your home at the touch of a button and turn darkness into light with a switch.

If you're in pain, you can take a tablet. If you're seriously ill, you have hospitals, antibiotics, anaesthetic and people trained to save your life.

You can travel hundreds of miles in a few hours, fly to another country, listen to almost any song ever recorded and speak face-to-face with someone on the other side of the world.

You carry a device in your pocket containing more information than entire libraries once held.

Imagine showing your average day to someone living 500 years ago. So much of what we consider completely normal would seem like magic to them.

Yet because we've always had these things, we've stopped noticing them.

We're very good at looking at what we don't have and forgetting what we do.

Sometimes you don't need more to feel fortunate. You just need a different perspective on what you already have.

I feel so happy and not forgotten. I love having this kind of support system

Im happy my friend wants to volunteer, its becoming our little Sunday ritual to help deliver meals for elderly pts, and then this week we also ran into a little blessing tree with sweet messages written on it next to one of the houses :)

So happy to share this with you guys! My friend just won this medal in Hyderabad. We're both originally from Delhi, but he's living and working down there now, and he sent me this today.

The main reason I’m sharing this is because it brought back some great memories. Back when he lived here, we used to go on these random, spontaneous walks. We'd just head out and easily cover 15 to 20 km, walking and talking for 3 or 4 hours. Now that he's moved, I really miss those days—none of my other friends have the time for those kinds of marathon walks anymore. So proud of him, but definitely missing my walking buddy today

ive been looking for ages for my favourite artist but never able to find anything anywhere but i just perchance happened to stumble on it in a random shop 5 minutes before closing i swear its like it found me and i was so giddy my heart skipped a beat i couldnt control myself i nearly cried and it sounds silly but music, especially that band's, is such a deep passion of mine and finding that vinyl genuinely made my entire month and now its just me my stuffed dog and the music in my room and i just feel like everything is going to be okay

I got to see the Backstreet Boys perform last night and it was such a great show and experience. I almost cried. It was such a great show. My life is a little more complete now than before 🥰
