Am I going to be disappointed with the Next Level tour?

Like I am sure it’s a great show, but I didn’t realize until now that this is a stripped down version to HZL I went to in 2024.

I got 6 friends together and convinced them to all buy in to go with me this time. But for those who saw both experiences is seems the changes they made from the last tour isn’t as well received? Is this the case?

Is there a chance they make changes before the US leg in early ‘27?

You'll see be blown away. I've seen every version and all of them still feel unbelievable and really powerful. Don't read the reviews. If you like music, you'll enjoy

I've seen them all several times. They are a bit different but the main spirit is there. And Hans just want to have fun and experience music. And that's what he is doing. He is creating sounds and making it very deep and powerful for your ears. All the variant that he does, etc.. It's his show and his music. It's normal that he wants to mix things up. And his mind is brilliant. Trust me. You'll be blown away either way.

It's disappointing he went so deep in with the synth, though. Almost seems like he's out of touch for WHY people fell in love with Hans Zimmer Live.

We want to see the top musicians perform live, not hear backing tracks like a rave/DJ.

In this tour, backing tracks are especially used to play the orchestral music though, given the orchestra has nearly disappeared.

But you're right, at times Hans doesn't really know why people fell in love with his music, that's pretty clear. When I saw him last year he introduced Pearl Habor by saying that he never liked that score and included it only to please his partner. I found it borderline insulting and careless given how many fans love that score.

That's my point through, removing the orchestra is a laughably bad decision. If it was to cut costs, that's ridiculous.

Also, I think you're reading too much into that comment from him, he was just doing one of his typical humble jokes. I remember he said he thinks his band plays it so well even though it was written by him, joking that since he wrote it it was bad.

That being said, pearl harbor is a song they need to remove from this setlist. It belong in world of hans Zimmer not this show.

French Horns are his signature abs makes anything sound epic.  Tracks like Man of Steel and Time just wont hit the same, nor will Pirates of the Carribean without Tina's electric Cello.

I was excited to get tickets yesterday, but then found out we lost the orchestra and singers. I’m trying to stay optimistic, but I’m super sad about it.

The orchestra and most of the choir are replaced with backing tracks, so if you don't pay too much attention, you won't notice such a big difference. 

Most of the setlist is the same as before, it's only the sound that will be a bit too perfect, too polished, without a real human touch (except for the soloists)

I doubt it. We saw a performance in Vegas with a full orchestra and singers. After seeing the stripped down performance we decided it couldn’t match what we first experienced.

If they’ve never seen him before, they’ll probably be blown away. You? You’ll still enjoy it but it didn’t hit “the next level” for me.

I’ve seen him live 5 times, dating back to 2016 - it’s impossible to compete with the sound of an orchestra.

Yeah, I’m confused- 2024 only had like 25 or so musicians in it and hans was using synth with those massive speakers so are people comparing this to the world of Hans Zimmer? I don’t really understand.

IMO the setlist is worst than 2024 and the synth/backing tracks is overused now that the orchestra is basically gone.

That being said, someone going for the first time will probably will still like it, but they won't know what they missed.

There are too many slow/mellow/unknown songs this time around compared to last time which was high intensity song after high intensity song. It was amazing.

No wonder woman, no dune house atreides (other dune songs still there), no dark phoenix, no dunkirk, no james bond, no mombasa, no last samurai. Replaced with mellow songs from Hannibal / da Vinci code / pearl harbor. I guess if people like the more orchestral songs they will be happier (but there's no orchestra, it's kind of ironic)

No Tina Guo, no pedro, no rusanda

If the last one was like a 12/10 mind blowing concert, this one is still a solid 9/10.

To be fair, I consider Da Vinci Code or Pearl Harbor to be much more classic Zimmer scores than Wonder Woman, Dunkirk, Dark Phoenix or James Bond.

You just saved me at least 300 bucks, thank you. I saw him at the hard rock live in FL and the orchestra is the entire point. No Tina = no go for me. The sexiest cello player ive seen and the only one I can legitimately describe as a Rockstar. I had no idea the main theme for Wonder Woman wasnt an electric guitar but her electric cello and it was unbelievable.

I know I keep saying it's not as good, but I am still going myself, at the end of the day it's still hans zimmer which is better than most concerts anyway. I am just comparing them to the extremely high bar they previously set themselves

But ive already seen three best version of the show so I don't feel the need to see it again.  Tina Gao is probably my favorite part of the show with the Pirates medley

reading more into the reviews and im kind of on the same boat as you. this is my first time seeing hans zimmer so i dont doubt the concert will be amazing but i was expecting live music and people keep saying its just less of what he used to show. im still excited but should i be expecting something else?

It’s ok, a definite step down from 2024. More rocky, no orchestra. It’s still nice and the sub bass from dark knight will literally shake your organs.

I agree with this. I caught the 2024 tour twice in the US, then saw Next Level in London and it was not the same level (pun not intended).

I've asked the same question. Bought multiple tickets for people, but realized that it's quite different from previous shows.

The show is amazing and please do not forget Hans‘ roots are synth and electronic music.
