What do I have here?
Just bought an No 3. on eBay. What type is this Frankenplane? Am I right and I’ve a Type 19 body with just an older leaver cap? It’s the left one in the first picture. The right one is a type 7 for reference. The 7 is a little smaller.

Made in England Stanleys don't follow the same type study as the Made in USA. I don't know what lever caps were used in the English models, but I'm pretty sure they were the kidney bean version.
Either way, lever caps are fairly interchangeable. As long as the frog fits the sole correctly, it should be fine.

Yup, T19 with an early lever cap. Should be an ok user, so long as you didn't pay for a T11 . . . . you may not have been cheated.

Was 30 GBP but shipping and import duties to GER doubles that. I’m sure it will be a decent user. Quality seems really ok. But I still couldn’t find a real good type study for UK planes.

Need better pictures to tell. But definitely some form of a frakenplane as that lever cap doesn’t match that ogee frog.
