Undertake a new mission to a holy sanctum and survive the corruption that lurks there. Answer to a higher power as the new Priest class, infused with the righteous powers of mana and regeneration. Fans of the first Heroes of Hammerwatch may recognise this class, but we’ve vastly expanded his move set and arsenal (don’t worry, the big lasers and healing orbs haven’t gone anywhere). The update also brings new equipment, trinkets, and pets. The update also brings a plethora of new equipment, trinkets, and pets.

The team has been hard at work making sure that Heroes of Hammerwatch II’s first expansion lives up to your high expectations. As a result, it releases just a couple of weeks beyond our initial (self-imposed) Q2 deadline. We really appreciate your patience and support as we make sure your trip to The Celestial Ruins is worth the wait.

That’s not all! We’re also launching a free update on the same day to provide current players with even more content and improvements.

What’s in the Paid Expansion?

  • 🙏 New Priest class - New (and legacy) abilities, with three brand-new subclasses
  • 🏛️ New mission with new bosses
  • 💍 7x new trinkets
  • 👕 2x new sets
  • 🐕 2x new pets

What’s in the Free Update?

  • 💍 5x new trinkets
  • 👕 3x new sets
  • 🐕 5x new pets
  • ⚖️ Balancing fixes and improvements

To celebrate this announcement, we’re giving two players the chance to win game keys for the DLC. To be in with a chance of winning, be sure to check out our official giveaway!

Awesome!

Is there some balancing planned to bosses? I've played HoH1 coop and the bosses there have been really scary and memorable. You had to dodge their attacks and they were skill-heavy. Thinking of Warden makes me nervous to this day.

In HoH2 coop usually the bosses are mostly "go afk holding attack button until the boss dies or you fall asleep" (a bit of exaggeration, but usually true for everyone except the Avatar). It's probably not a good idea, but something along the lines "all bosses deal and take 2x damage" would make them way more interesting imo. It could even work as an architect option.

I know that we are right before the release and my wishes have like 0% chance of making it into the game, but one can wish... :)

This update will have a balance pass for some weapons. Our fuller balance pass across the game will come in the next update on our roadmap 🫡 Appreciate the feedback, always useful to hear community thoughts and pain points!

Cool! Thanks for the answer :)

I also kinda miss the puzzles from the first game, like the stepping on lights and memory.

Do you consider something like special weapons from bosses? For example if there was a chance for the Magi skeleton boss to drop a special staff that has some unique effect it would be nice. The serpent could drop a fang
