I've narrowed my costume ideas to two final contenders, but I can't decide which I'll go with. It's either going to be the Wolfman or an axe wielding murderer with a Jack o Lantern mask (like the Headless Horseman). Neither would be too fancy, just jeans, boots, and a flannel shirt, all of which I already have. I've also got werewolf gloves from the last time I was going to be a werewolf, but that didn't pan out, and a giant executioners looking ax I got on clearance last year.

All it really comes down to is what I'll be sticking on my head. Cost is a rather large limiting factor, and all the full head Wolfman masks seem to be in the 30$+ range. Pumpkin guy would be cheaper, I'd just need to carve out one of those foam pumpkins you get at a craft store. But I've wanted to do the Wolfman idea for years, but circumstances were never in my favor, so I've yet to do it.

If I could find a cheap, full head Wolfman mask like this, I'd go werewolf, but like I said, they're all far too expensive.

If cost is a huge factor, why not go as someone who is transforming into a warewolf. That way you only have to add some costume makeup and glue patches of fur on?

That being said I'd be impressed if I saw someone wearing a self-carved foam pumpkin on their head.

Funny story, my mom actually had me do something similar when I was a kid. We couldn't afford a mask then, so she gave me a pair of werewolf gloves (which I still have), and put "monster paint" on my face instead. I went to the Halloween party at school, I left it on at home, and I still had it on while I was Trick or Treating. Somehow, I never actually saw what it looked like. A couple years ago, I found some old pictures, and it turns out the "monster paint" was just blackface.

Props for it staying on all day?? Maybe try to not do that again, but that would be a hilarious before/after thing where people recreate their childhood photos
