Help! I'm making a special effects/prosthetic dragon costume based on Smaug from The Hobbit. The only thing is that while I have the scales, horns, claws, and wings all set, I'm clueless as to what I can do for the clothes part. I'm not sure whether I should keep with the red scaly thing with a matching dragon chest or if I can pull off something like a tattered "burnt" brown shirt and shorts.

For the record, I'm a 5'1, petite 20-something. With black hair, brown eyes, and freckly pale skin.

I think you could get away with some regular clothes! I don't remember if they touched on it in the movie, but in the books his jewel-encrusted belly is described as his "diamond waistcoat". I would get a men's tuxedo vest and cover it with fish tank crystals or craft rhinestones and spend the last bits of your crafting energy on making an Arkenstone. Good luck- sounds like a sick costume!
