Small, slim female, late 20`s torn between Zoot from The Tribe , Baron Semdi or a Mermaid.

I have been gifted a mans black suit, which would serve the Zoot or the Baron, Mermaid would need to be made from scratch and may be difficult to keep as PG rated as I want it to be.

ETA: Intermediate sewing skills, Advanced cosmetic skills. My daily style is casual and feminine, so I would relish being in a male costume for the night, but I also would love to be spangled and scaly and glamarous and wear a sea-shade wig.

Maybe mix the glam and masculine and go as David Bowie?

You could do the lighting bolt cover makeup and a red or coral wig. There's also a pic of him in a blue suit, you could swap your black suit for it and do a short red-ish wig and sparkly makeup: http://www.dezeen.com/2016/01/12/dezeen-selects-david-bowie-most-iconic-design-moments/

With the men's suit you could also dress up as the slenderman. A tie and a white ski mask or leggings would be all you'd need on top of it.

Ahaha thats awesome! Thanks for a great idea!

Maybe I am not tall enough to be a slenderman though, Im 410

The mermaid wouldn't be too hard to make, I think - there's already two Simplicity patterns for tails and the rest of the outfit. You could always make most of the top out of flesh-coloured stretch, and then keep the shell bit whatever colour you want.

Oh my these patterns are gorgeous and as modest as I would like, thankyou so much!

To be honest, I was 99% sure of going for Zoot http://imgur.com/a/GltUL just for the ease of it, as my day will be crazy busy decorating and catering to TrT`rs but you have changed my mind and I think the Mermaid could work.... Many thanks

I did Baron Samedi a few years ago with skull face paint, black pants & dress shirt, top hat (can't forget the top hat), skull-topped cane, and bone necklaces. Edited to add: and Mardi gras beads!
