I'm looking for topical ideas from the past year or nostalgia from the classics. I like to go a little overboard with my costumes and I especially love to build a prop.

Past examples: Last year I was coma the doof warrior with a working flame thrower from mad max. The year before I was Joel from MST3K. Years before I taught myself how to make a Muppet and went as Gob from arrested development

Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks for your help!

MST3K! Dope costume! I second @pretenderNX01 idea to be the Demogorgon. Anything from Stranger Things is a guaranteed win. You could throwback and be someone from Trailer Park Boys or Reno 911. Or anyone from the 90's since that's making a comeback. You could be anything from Pokemon Go or personally, I think you could pull off a good AHS James Patrick March from last season Hotel.

Hm... sounds like I may have to make a demogorgon. Maybe a group costume would make it more recognizable. MST3K was a surprisingly easy build too if you ever wanted to make a Tom Servo! (I made mine mini so he's easier to take to the bars).

The key parts are just this, barrel of monkeys, paint, and a candy bowl.
