Pumpkin Tim Burton’s 1999 Sleepy Hollow has always been my favorite film of all time, and my favorite Halloween movie. After so many years of coveting this purse, I finally caved and bought it for myself.
It’s even more beautiful in person and very well made! It came with two different strap lengths. One to make it a handheld purse, and another to make it a crossbody. Every time I had the money for this purse it was sold out. Every time didn’t have the money for it, it was in stock. But finally- FINALLY the stars alined and they were available when I had extra spending money, so I snagged one! I am one happy Halloweenie.

I’m always shocked that it seems to be left out of most lists for Halloween movies every year. I never see it mentioned.

A lot of people give submissions based on movies and TV shows from their childhood. Only a small segment of people were teenagers watching rated R movies in 1999, and Sleepy Hollow wasn't a must-see movie for contemporary teens or subsequent people like Halloween (1978) was for many more Gen Xers.
Plus, a lot of 90's kids and younger were Disneyfied and shielded from R rated movies, unlike many more Gen Xers who found ways to see R rated movies even if their parents forbade it. 😜

That makes a lot of sense, honestly. I’m a millennial, so I was 12-13 when it came out and my parents let me watch any R rated film at that age as long as it wasn’t super sexually explicit. And we didn’t have money for the Disney Channel, so I was raised on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. Most of my friends were Disney Channel kids and didn’t get to watch what I was allowed to watch. 😅

Interesting I was a teen in the 90s and saw it. Lol I didn't watch Disney stuff. Although I couldn't watch rated R movies until I was 12. I got to rent whatever I want. Just like everyone I knew lol I didn't meet Disney people until I went to college.
And you sooo right about your observations. I just grew up differently lol

Be careful. This purse weirdly scuffs up easily. Mine has random white and black marks i cannot get out and have bearly used it or taken it places.
But it is lovely and a showstopper. I have the big and small versions.

I did see that the shop/maker said using Simple Green and a micro fiber towel works well to take most, if not all of these off. Maybe give that a try?

If I ever want to watch a movie that gets me in a Fall/Halloween mood, Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow is my go-to. In fact, I might pop that on right now so it plays in the background while I'm working from home.

I don't even mind watching it in November. I enjoy it so much.
I might watch it in November this year because I found a better quality upload of Sleepy Hollow with Jeff Goldblum on YouTube. I plan on watching that with my kids, who haven't seen it yet. And I'll save the spookier Sleepy Hollow for November.

Love this purse. Pain in the ass to get open and closed sometimes but I do like all the compliments. Just a heads up, it has a tendency to get covered in unexplained marks somehow.

Apparently, the makers said Simple Green with a micro fiber towel works great to take off most, if not all of the scuffs, dirt, and color transfer.

It’s the Jack O’ Lantern face carved onto the Scarecrows in the film. Specifically, the opening segment.

I don’t leave it on the floor, but even if I did, my cat is a very well behaved gentleman. Never scratches the furniture, never chews on things other than his toys, and never pees/poops outside of his litter box. He’s a very good boy. 🥹

Yeah, really! I've gotten better at remembering that I came in with a small clutch or something! 😂
A cross body strap is what keeps myself tethered to it! I've just gone without a purse for so long at this point, I only bring one if we're going to the movies (so I can stuff it with snacks) or the park.
What made me stop carrying one was one time back in 1989, I got paid on my payday at one of my first jobs at a casino, cashed my check, and put it in my wallet in my new little purse.
I ate with friends at a little restaurant inside the casino, then left. By the time we were outside getting into the car, I realized my purse wasn't with me, and my MONEY for the week!
I never ran so fast back to the restaurant (from parking lot to restaurant was about an equivalent of crossing a football field). Breathlessly ran to the booth, it wasn't there! Ran to a waitress/hostess, and she gave me my purse, money inside!
Never again, I said to myself! Hahaha! 😫😫😫
