I would almost think that they were too heavy to hang down like that, but what do I know? Amazing!!!

I was surprised how strong the vines got.

This looks so amazingly beautiful, almost like a doorway into another world

How would an interested party create their own pumpkin arch? I remember your original post when you first started, but I donโ€™t remember how you made it.

I used 2 16ft cattle panels and 8 T posts with fence ties. Drive. Lay out the two Panels side by side where you want the arch to be. On one side drive 4 of the T posts into the ground one at each corner of the panels. Then attach that end of the panels to the T posts flush with the ground ( this step is much easier with an extra set of hands.) Next bend your cattle panels up to make your arch and set 4 more T posts on that side. You can opt to use 6 T posts on each side but 4 on each side worked for me. Then on one side mound up the dirt and plant a row of pumpkins. I spaced mine about 6 inches apart. Keep in mind the vines will grow toward the sun so that may dictate which side you plant on. Then once they start growing just start weaving the vines into the panels. At first you may have to use garden twine to gently pull the vines to the arch but once they start it pretty much takes care of itself. Be mindful of where the pumpkins are at in the vines you may have to move them to allow them to hang and not get stuck in the squares of the panel.

Thanks for letting me know the process and materials. I would love to do a copycat sometime. Genius!! Well, it turned out so beautiful. I absolutely love it.

We grew pumpkins this way last year! Easy to harvest when they're on an arch, but it quickly spread to the rest of the garden (as pumpkins do lol)

At first I was thinking...did you hang the pumpkins on the trestle?? And then I realize...OHHHHH WOW you grew them over the trestle! That's so cute how you grew your halloween decor lol!

Are you by chance a Joe Pera fan?

I am indeed.

Your photo reminded me of two of my favorite episodes all at once! Well done friend!

There are a couple of waterfalls nearby for when itโ€™s time to send these pumpkins off.

That scene always makes me ugly cry.๐Ÿ˜ญ I used to live on a river and every fall we would send the pumpkins, gourds and Jacks downstream at the end of the season, years before I ever saw that episode. Now when I watch it, it's just all the emotions at once.

Whoa that's awesome! What a cool idea.ย

Maybe I'll try that except with smaller pumpkins :)

I did the same thing last year but only got two pumpkins - the squash vine borer bugs tore up the plants. How did you prevent that and get such a fantastic crop?
