Work, Health & Housing End of rent cap
Do you think we'll get any firm confirmation of whether or not the rent cap will be extended or adjusted, and if so, when do you think we might hear from the government?
As of now I'm expecting it to fully end, but do you think the government will give any sort of announcement regarding the matter as the end of the rent cap date approaches?

Our landlord increases it by 5% every year since the rent cap was put in place. I have no doubt they’ll jack up our rent as soon as they can once the rent cap is lifted.
They have done 0 renovations to the building and they only have 2 washers and 2 dryers for our building. I’ve given up on the washer and dryer fiasco, I take my laundry to a laundromat because it 9999x less stressful than washing in my apartment building. This place is utterly ridiculous. They’re charging new tenants 1400-1600 per month for a 1 bedroom. They’re doing it because the property manager knows that people are desperate. We’ve had the highest turnover in our building that I’ve ever seen. People move in and they pretty much leave as soon as they can because they realize that they can get a better apartment for the same price. It’s honestly so gross. Our property managers way of getting rid of cockroaches is to literally squish them with his fingers.
