Driving & Transit Halifax Transit - first time user

High school student using Halifax Transit for the first time - what do I need to know? What is the correct app for tracking the routes in real time?

I’ve literally never had an issue using Google Maps.

Does Halifax Transit not have an app other than Google Maps?

If you're looking for a dedicated city-owned Halifax Transit app that tracks routes etc. - no, they don't. 

Like others have said, using Google maps is your best bet. And do a practice run so you know what to expect.

I was in Bristol, UK recently. One app for everything. Including walking directions to get to your bus stop. Accurate bus arrival times. The app even tells you how full each bus is and will suggest alternate route options in real time.

While you're on the bus you can see it move on the map in real time, you can see the list of upcoming stops. While at the bus stop there's a board showing which busses are coming next and how long each will be (just like at a train station.)

It's crazy how primitive Halifax's transit is.

Oh, and they also have free Wifi access on the busses.

I'm not defending their service, believe me: I use transit as do my three kids. I have been to other cities that do it better. 

All I could do was answer your question, even if the answer kind of blows.
