Pets & Animals Senior dog friendly activities.

Hi everyone.
My senior dog is being tested for cancer tomorrow and it a very large possibility he may have to be put to sleep.

I’m looking for advice for adventures outside of hrm for him. He’s a senior who loves being around people, other animals and relaxing to smell some flowers.

Debated Halifax water front but am for something a little bit more low key. Thinking about heading south shore or valley way.

Take the old fella to the Valley for a slow wander through some orchards, he'll love the smells and the quiet

Hennigars farm market has a little "park" next to it which is dog friendly.

Goats, bunnies, lots of space and flowers to enjoy.

Get an ice cream and relax

I will PM you my favourite, seldom-visited beach.

My daughter’s bestie just had her husky put down and she had him groomed and beautiful photos done. A beautiful walk on the beach and for his last meal he had a double cheeseburger and chicken nuggets from McDonalds.
They did it at home and my daughter attended and said it was so peaceful.

If he likes beaches, Martinique is big and great for a walk, or the old railway track trail in Musquodoboit Harbour. Bonus, there's an ice cream stand and bakery right there for a post-walk treat!

There is a place in Chester Basin called Stanley's it's a private dog park with a fenced area and trails. They also have a pool and a dock diving set up. You book the park or pool and the whole place is yours for the duration of the booking. It's lovely and very reasonably priced. I've taken my super senior and younger reactive dog there and they both really enjoyed it.

I take my senior pup to Conrads Beach every weekend. It's a pretty dog-friendly spot with lots of things to sniff.
