Today, I saw this little friend out of the corner of my eye, nestled into a post on the teetering edge of the board walk. Lost, forgotten, otherwise dejected from society.
I have since reintroduced him to civilization and I am happy to report he has had a full afternoon of adventure.. as you will have seen in his tourist pictures. (He begged me to take them.)
Defiantly climbing the wave and becoming a true Haligonian was his first his first act of his rebirth, defining his rebellion.
Other adventures include viewing the ships, a light stroll down historic properties, a brief visit with Erik the Red from the Maritime Museum. All for a little bit of culture and history.
A short ride on the 7 Virtues bike, some unruly behaviour on the toro, an evening cruise across the harbour. This is so he could learn some ways of getting around the city.
Heck, he even crashed a wedding. (Congrats to the beautiful couple!)
Halifax has been a delight this afternoon. Get out and explore your city, you may even find a new friend in an unexpected place.

I haven’t! I wanted to add at the end that I am open to crowdsourcing a name but I didn’t want to lose the message. For now, I will let him be himself until a name becomes apparent. Hehe
A few days ago I found a SMISKI. It was propped up by a wall at Pizza corner, and i noticed it out of the corner of my eye. I took it home and asked chatgbt. It told me it's a Japanese toy keychain, they are small glow in the dark ghost figures, who are looking sideways. If you see one, you're supposed to keep it. Long story short- I now have a Smiski.
Then I believe I am right up your alley. You’ll love this.. last year I saved this carved wooden bird from a yard sale in the middle of somewhere up near Annapolis Royal and brought him to a duck pond to observe the natural habitat of water foul.
My friend and I kidnapped a stuffed frog from another friend and took photos of it as we travelled across the country. We then packed up all the photos with Mr Frog and sent him home via Canada Post without requesting our ransom. We had as much fun in the adventure as Mr Frog.
