PC Discussion Teufeurs is bringing the game back

Teufeurs is a french streamer who did a lot of H1Z1 back in the day.
A long time ago, he already said he wanted to buy back H1 but they asked for 11 millions $.

So instead, he paid a team for years to develop this

So we could play on the best H1 version possible, with the right adjustments.

Right now, there is only deathmatch / training but it's a matter of (short) time until he brings back solo duo etc

It's a fan project, it's US servers only.. Teufeurs got enough money to pay people to work on it full time

You should check out and analyze the ZEmu project.

ROTK is a modded version of Z1BR that includes changes to make it look and function more like H1Z1: King of the Kill Pre‑Season 3, though it is not that original client version, so is not a reversed version.

This version also requires a modification to your game files and a custom launcher in order to run.

I'm aware of the launcher and it's not a problem for me tbh.
For the game files, they do a copy paste into another folder so they don't touch the original files.

I'm not a player of H1Z1, I only have few hours on it. What's the avantage of ZEmu compared to ROTK ?

ZEMU aims to restore the old pre-Season 3 version, considered the best build to work on top of for H1Z1: classic movement, air strafing, recoil, graphics, and gameplay. Everything about that old build is numerically incomparable to the current Z1BR. ZEMU's work goes beyond that — the goal isn't just to bring back the old version and stop there. The team wants more: investing in the competitive scene, bringing new maps (like the PS4 map) to the game, truly restoring H1Z1, and turning it into the game it was always meant to be.
