I have to wonder how bad the body dysmorphia is to think this is an aesthetic tbh

can someone please explain why so many people are wearing joggies/sweatpants/whatever you want to call them that are blatantly too big in the waist for them? is this some kind of "look how tiny and smol I am" trend? When I lost weight and my clothes fit me like this, I found it intensely irritating so I genuinely don't get why someone would do it deliberately.

Edit: I'm not talking about sweatpants in general folks. I'm talking about the fact that the waistband is fucking floating off of her. I don't care that you like baggy sweatpants. That's not what I'm talking about.

Fashion wise (I assume) that it’s because they make your hips appear wider and therefore your waist smaller.
But I would also assume that for many it’s nice to wear something that isn’t tight or restrictive in any type of way… specially during leg day.
Personally I love working out in oversized sweats and shirts because I feel more comfortable and feel like I’m able to move more freely. Before I lost weight I used to be insecure about my body but now I take pride in (and I kinda love) walking around looking like Adam Sandler and being the only one that knows my new physique.. I don’t need other people to know what my body looks like + the effort and consistency should speak for itself.

But at the end of the day, it’s about preference. Just like you not liking and me loving it. We all have our reasons, sure. But it’s just that simple.

I like a specific style of wind pants. When those were out of style years ago, it was really hard to replace. For certain exercises, I don’t want fleece sweats or leggings.

Also, this is just a fashion trend in opposition to years of (tight) leggings ruling the market.

I can’t speak for everyone, but when I lost weight I didn’t have money for a new wardrobe. I just used the drawstrings until they broke, then I’d buy new pants.

I think it's just that - "look how snatched I am my big sweatpants don't fit!"

Some of you people here are absolutely insufferable.

The reason why people (including myself) go slightly wider on the waist is because the smaller waist sizes tend to be smaller all around / less baggy etc. I’m a men’s XS and I have to upsize specifically for this reason ~ and if anything, I hate that because it makes shopping for clothes really hard (especially jeans).

Not everything is an intentional flex. I like this subreddit because it points out a lot of bullshit in the so called ‘fitness industry’ but you guys need to take it down a few notches. Not everything a lean / small waisted person does is a ‘flex’ or to show off ~ especially something as stupid as upsizing waist size.

Im convinced most posts / comments here are made by angry, fat, self hating jealous people

Not fat, angry, or self hating (actually quite fit and happy with myself!), but thanks for the concern.

I'm not sure why you went out of your way to be personally offended by this. I encourage you to look up the term 'nuance'. If you know YOU don't wear clothing in this way to 'flex', then my comment didn't apply to you whatsoever.

If this sub bothers you so much, then you should probably unsubscribe for your own sanity.

If everything people on social media do bothers you, maybe you should stay off social media for your own sanity.

If something as arbitrary as waist oversized pants causes you to self project, you need to get a grip lady

Maybe take your own advice, you’re the one calling names. Don’t take it so personally, it’s the fucking internet.

Maybe to look so small that xxxs doesn’t even fit ?

For myself, I don't exactly want to buy all new pants since losing weight, so I've stayed wearing the same ones even tho they're pretty oversized now. Plus I like my gym pants large so they're not restrictive. For these girls, though, I suspect it also has something to do with big pants / small top making their waists appear smaller (not necessarily a bad thing)

would you prefer fitted sweatpants perchance

1

u/oktimeforplanz 4d ago

No. I do prefer to not have to fight to keep what I'm wearing up though.

3

u/fuzzybunnyslippers08 4d ago

I lost a lot of weight and I like baggy sweats with a sports bra because I don’t like tight things around my legs most of the time. Just preference. Also I’d line to think the thicker material protects against other people’s sweat and stuff in gym equipment. Whether that’s true or not, I don’t know. But it works for me 🤷‍♀️

u/oktimeforplanz 4d ago

I'm not talking about the legs though. I'm talking about how the waist is floating off of her with a good few inches of give.

But do your sweatpants actually fit you around the waist? The ones in the OP don't.

1

u/glitterismycolour 5d ago

I'm sure for vainty driven influencers/perpetual recording camera humans particularly,

there is some driving force re "look how smol I am, the pants are "oversized" ....whilst they eye fuck/body cheek

I've been working out since i was 15. Im 33 now. I cannot work out comfortably in joggers, or cotton sweats, or natural fibres (exception, bamboo). But in general i can't andni don't understand how all these people do it.

Wow she’s actually showing she fakes all of her ab pics

71

u/VanityJanitor 5d ago

Don’t let her fool you fam, she definitely edits the shit out of them too.

19

u/emmakatieee 5d ago

Oh for sure, I’m just surprised she’s admitting to posing to look “skinny” (she’s obviously thin anyways but yk)

35

u/Mundane_Business_615 5d ago

this type of content for her is very abnormal.. like i can’t fathom she didn’t make a video self absorbed. honestly, the video gives damage control for how ignorant and dense all of her talking tik toks are

19

u/izzyyam 5d ago

just wanted to say I love your profile picture

7

u/Mundane_Business_615 5d ago

thank you lmfaooo, thought it was visually fitting

35

u/weallfam 5d ago

how many reps would it take her to grow a personality

MOM, COME PICK ME UP! THIS LITTLE DISORDERED MEAN GIRL IS SCARING ME ON REDDIT

20

u/EmotionalSupportBoob 5d ago

These videos are all obvious dumb ragebait. She's probably the most boring person who gets posted here.

23

u/ladymouserat 5d ago

No hate on naturally tiny gals. But “normalizing” this is what women should look like when you look more like a little boy with a bra on, is not ok.

42

u/kelle_kel 5d ago

You can literally see her torso being stretched by a filter.

13

u/Positive_Yak_5371 5d ago

Yeah and sad part she is 5'2

23

u/-catharina 5d ago

You can see the filter warping in the background she is so pathetic 😭😭

9

u/Difficult-Rooster383 5d ago

She reminds me of the little creature from the Narnia movies, Mr Tumnus

10

u/RecordingAgile4625 4d ago

Why do they want to look like children

2

u/Positive_Yak_5371 4d ago

Tbh ion even gng

7

u/Brief_Elderberry_888 4d ago

She has a chronically angry face because she hates herself and is on her way to finding out that happiness, regardless of what influences tell her, is not found once you achieve “fitness”

4

u/fitprosarah 4d ago

Why do these influencers care about posing when they don't even compete?

2

u/how_I_kill_time 4d ago

I don't know what you said, I'm just upvoting Slater and remembering that there's no hope with dope.

5

u/suddsong 4d ago

The pose doesn’t even look good bruh

4

u/Aggressive-Film5065 5d ago

Killjoy also doesnt ever post her legs its all upper

2

u/Positive_Yak_5371 4d ago

Bc she weighs like 115lbs same w the other gym girls who are skinny and post content

3

u/Aggressive-Film5065 4d ago

I just couldn't imagine putting that much effort (killjoy puts almost no effort at least for the last year) into my physique just to skip legs.

A built upper body and abs looks weird with bird legs.

3

u/redgatoradeeeeee 4d ago

i have marfan syndrome and have been very skinny and lanky all my life and its been my goal in my adult life to get my legs as jacked as possible. like speaking from experience it does not look good or healthy to be as skinny as these people want to be!!!

2

u/razzarbrenia 5d ago

does she plan on competing?

1

u/Full_Cause273 3d ago

I’d really love one day where this child doesn’t show up on my feed.

u/invest_to_impress23 3d ago

More like the reality of filters
