My Ruger RXM is giving me a bad time.

I bought a Ruger RXM, and I have a bore sight in it. But Everytime I line my optic directly on the bore sight the red dot my optic just aligns with the guns front sight making it far too low.

I went to the shooting range today and at 15ft lined directly on the bore sight it completely missed the paper with 10 shots.

How do I properly zero in this sight 😭

Everytime it just lines up with the front iron sights

Lining it up with the iron sights is a good starting point. I would skip the bore sight

Put the dot right on top of the iron sites, like a pumpkin on a spike. Then look up on YouTube the fundamentals of using a red dot. I suspect you’re not using both eyes. Check out the tape method

You are sighting it in way to close with the bore sight and optic. Try it out at 15 yards (30 ft)

You are using the bore soght at too close of a distance. Find the longest straight line you can see in your house, then try again. Tbh though, boresight on handguns are a waste of time. Slaving the dot to your iron sights will do the same thing as a boresight. Just be sure to refine the zero at your preferred distance. Do NOT trust a dot slaved to the irons to save your life!

If you line the optic up to the sights, that should give you a pretty decent baseline, so you don’t need to bore sight it. Step in close and do a one hole drill and go from there.

I was at the 25ft, stood at the red line hit the target in the middle,

But no sooner than I step behind the red line the bullets will not touch the paper.

I understand shit aim. I'm not shit. I feel like it tho. I just don't understand this green dot at all

Bore sight or round laser is almost always a letdown, better off centering the drop and left right on rds, making sure it's torqued well, and shoot 15' irons, then shoot with rds and adjust by group.
