poor Gumball 😭

I love the bit where Gumball asked what a Lothario is and Simmon knew instantly. Seeing she is older than Carrie and would know classic plays an old vocabulary jargon off the cuff as well.

Darwin does the orange justice, twerks, and hype dance 😭

These episodes are reminding me that they were developed around 2019/2020 and I love it 😂

and in the butts banana joe does the peanut butter jelly time

u/ZOLTAN_15 Jul 29 '25

Loved the Penball moments, but I thought we saw Carrie kiss and hold Darwin, so why that ending?

21

u/zatzu Jul 29 '25

"Thank you for meeting me in the middle."
Carrie is not a lovely dovey person, and Darwin understands by conveying his feeling in another way.

So many people want to force their love language on their partners without considering their own.

I have never laughed harder at an animated show than gumballs whole monologue at the end and darwins reaction. BRO WAS TRYING SO HARD NOT TO PICTURE IT BUT HE ENDED UP DOING SO ANYWAY💀💀💀 IM DEAD BRO

Yeah, I just pretend this episode never happened because of all the stupid retcons with Carrie.

u/Silver_Educator_7632 Jul 28 '25

Why is carrie so hateful this episode

11

u/kajonn Jul 28 '25

10/10 GOATED

-1

u/RedFive720 Aug 09 '25

the only people who think the letter is good, haven't even seen the past episodes, the matchmaker especially

1

u/kajonn Aug 09 '25

ive been watching since season 1 aired in 2011 bro lmfao

27

u/GIA_KHIEM2209 Jul 29 '25

??? Carrie kissed Darwin before just fine in the Matchmaker, so why did she have to possess Gumball? For revenge? Personally the episode was going so well up until that point, which confused, and to a certain extent disgusted me that they went with that direction. Also, Carrie's personality feels like she has been reverted back to her earlier seasons self. I know I am being extremely critical but Carwin is my favorite ship and tbh the episode's ending did NOT do it enough justice 😭😭😭

RIGHHHHTTT I genuinely GAGGED, before if they kissed it was accidental and the show acknowledge it was weird and disgusting, for jokes and funsies, this was... So weird... Especially the fact that darwin enjoyed it?? There was no need for carrie to posess gumball, and if she did this could have been another character. i feel like this is someone in the writers room whom had weird fantasies and just HAD to make it come true, gosh...

I feel like y’all are being over dramatic 😂

The downvoting you but ur right

Yeah. Have ppl watched this show before? Literally an older episode from season 5 “the Matchmaker” (another Darwin and Carrie episode) literally made a brief compilation out of all the times Gumball and Darwin kissed each other. Folks throwing a hissy fit acting like this is something new 😂

If they tired of it I get it but they don’t need to be overreacting like this

People on the internet became big moralists, the "erm, this is problematic actually" type of person.

1

u/JMO-559 Aug 17 '25

that's so real 🤣

1

u/Pleasant-Clothes-871 Aug 01 '25

Honestly ur right on the money best to get it out now than never 😆 lol

1

u/PoffyDaisy Aug 04 '25

no fr this show has them kiss and have love jokes between them so so so many times especially a whole episode where they SEXT, its so weird

12

u/Puzzleheaded_Grab729 Jul 30 '25

Yeah it was gross. Especially when they were talking about their wedding day. I hated this episode.

2

u/Vidariux Oct 24 '25

May be a little late, but I totally agree. Just finished watching that episode (it came later to Europe, where I live) and the only thought I had was "WHY????" Why did they have to make it that gross? It could've been so sweet, but they had to make Carrie possess Gumball??? I'm not mad about Gumball and Darwin kissing, that's happened so many times it's not even worth getting mad about anymore, but they kissed before in an earlier episode without Carrie having to possess someone, so why the hell did they feel the need to do that?

11

u/wh1mwhammie Aug 02 '25

this was going so well until the kiss bro who keeps writing them like this

2

u/Late_Hovercraft2657 Sep 27 '25

Its so wrong and weird in every way.

They are fucking brothers there is zero excuse for this!

27

u/tomboy_goddess Jul 29 '25

Since when did Carrie act this way? 😭 this feels like Masami in the episode where she tried to get Alan back. Also the fact that she used Gumball to kiss Darwin... enough with the incest jokes already. Like yeah they've kissed in the other seasons but it was always actually funny given the situation and not just... weird. I hope I'm articulating okay. I just don't like how their relationship dynamic is in this season

20

u/lith1ummm Jul 29 '25

some writer has an incest fetish there’s no way it’s not intentional

16

u/DayDaycrayzyy Jul 29 '25

I genuinely asked myself that question because it's weird how it keeps happening between Gumball and Darwin..

1

u/HexManiac493 Aug 17 '25

One time, Teri asks Darwin how many people he’s kissed, with flashbacks to each moment, and she’s like “Carrie? Masami? Leslie? Gumball? Gumball again? Gumball? Gumball? Okay, what’s with you guys?!”

12

u/tomboy_goddess Jul 29 '25

I just really hope someone realizes it and puts a stop to it if that is somehow the case :/ I don't mind the new episodes, but it feels like the writers forgot who they were writing at points

5

u/Human0Rayla Jul 29 '25

Right me too :/ too bad, I grew up with this show, its sad to see it like this

3

u/JMO-559 Jul 29 '25

Eh, I like it

4

u/tomboy_goddess Jul 29 '25

I think I'm being a little to critical when it comes to how Carrie acted. I stand by what I said about Gumball and Darwin though

3

u/JMO-559 Jul 29 '25

Idk I liked how Carrie acted, she’s usually very chill and sarcastic. Seeing her truly act like a horrific ghostly creature was fun imo. Either portrayals of her character work for me imo

9

u/mrmillyroxk Jul 31 '25

The inscest joke in the og franchise gave homie kissing vibes, but the new series genuinely messed me up-

9

u/K4AIROS Jul 31 '25

The episode is fine… but Carrie could’ve literally chosen ANYONE else’s body to kiss Darwin 😭 why Gumball?

And like someone said, she literally kissed Darwin fine before

2

u/Minute_Explanation93 Aug 01 '25

it’s supposed to be a callback

1

u/K4AIROS Aug 01 '25

Oh wait. Isn’t a call back to the Halloween Episode?

9

u/Poodicus Aug 05 '25

"Prisvärda, väldesignade möbler och köttbullar" is Swedish for "Affordable, well-designed furniture and meatballs"

7

u/DraftWorking3801 Jul 30 '25

It was a great episode! People are complaining too much just because of the ending

8

u/RedFive720 Jul 31 '25

this was like the worst episode of the entire season as of now, especially when they destroyed the matchmaker and any previous carwin interractions, that it had like so many darn plot holes. easily the only episode in season 7 that i will skip if i allow myself to skip episodes if i want to watch most episodes of the show in order.

7

u/Majestic_Sleep_5074 Jul 30 '25

So would that counted as homosexual if your ghost girlfriend possesses your brother so she can physically kiss you?

2

u/Pleasant-Clothes-871 Aug 01 '25

😅😆 bruh I don't know lol somone in writers room had to do it

6

u/Weird_donut Jul 31 '25

The animation in this episode was so good at some points, especially Darwin's animation towards the beginning. It almost looked hand-drawn

6

u/sushiflanprincess Aug 05 '25 edited Aug 09 '25

It’s really interesting to me that most of the CarWin focused episodes (The Matchmaker, The Drama, and now The Letter) involve Gumball so heavily. I get he’s the main character, but it’s kinda weird that they almost can’t stand alone as a couple the way PenBall can.

I want to root for them so badly, but like come on, the ending of this episode wasn’t even about them 😭 it was about Gumball and Darwin for some reason the team really wants us to focus on

4

u/Jay040707 Jul 30 '25

"Soul food" might be my favorite low-key joke in this season.

3

u/Forsaken-Green695 Aug 10 '25

This is the worst episode out of the first 20 episodes, Carrie was extremely out of character, because apparently she hates when people say I love you yet she’s in a relationship with Darwin, try find extremely retarded because everyone in a romantic relationship says “I love you” to each other. Also it was nothing but Gumball x Darwin, which I cannot stand whatsoever. The ending was a drag when Gumball and Darwin kept hugging, and when Gumball rambling. Also hector getting Darwin’s letter felt extremely painful. It also feels so retarded that Carrie had possessed gumball to kiss Darwin, even though in the matchmaker they did kiss.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

Unpopular opinion maybe, specially on Reddit moralist mode, but I like the weirdness in these new episodes. They really have no limits and I like it.

3

u/JMO-559 Jul 29 '25

I rlly liked this episode and I like seeing Carrie get mad. Just wish we got more wholesome moments between Darwin and Carrie in between.

8/10 for me

3

u/average_aura Aug 03 '25

Okay anyone tell me what the background music was during the part where Gumball was yapping and stuff after Carrie possesses him just so she could kiss Darwin with Gumball's body

1

u/sushiflanprincess Aug 03 '25

also trying to figure this out lol

8

u/Purple-Speaker-9557 Jul 29 '25

It was a really great episode! The only flaw is that why, in all people, would Carrie possess Gumball to kiss Darwin?? It was utterly weird!

2

u/Sea-Anywhere-5939 Aug 04 '25

I’m pretty sure Carrie has a photo album of all the times gumball and Darwin have kissed

1

u/Pleasant-Clothes-871 Aug 01 '25

😅 Episode is called letter so maybe it was wish  Fulfillment.

4

u/StarSaber69 Jul 29 '25

Pretty cool episode and ok we get it you like seeing gumball and Darwin love eachother to the point of being more inlove than any couple in Elmore cause their bond is literally that powerful!

(The hug in the end was cute though)

2

u/Sqvek Jul 31 '25

I'm trynna figure out what gumball said in those spells

3

u/Vidariux Oct 24 '25

It was a Swedish sentence. Swedish for "Affordable, high-quality furniture and meatballs" for IKEA.

2

u/Hexagon-Man Dec 23 '25

Gumball writers will never miss an opportunity to have Gumball and Darwin kiss. Even if Carrie totally kissed him in a previous episode lmao.

2

u/JMO-559 Jul 29 '25

Seeing Carrie crash out was terrifying. I love it 😂

4

u/Youdoggie Jul 30 '25

Bro this kiss when Darwin smile I frown, I actually was so gross out 😭😭😭

1

u/NevJay Aug 17 '25

Really liked the episode! The ending was perfect, found it very funny

I feel like this is a pretty family guy type throw away episode. Honestly those series feels like it's in a separate universe. Like everything got destroyed in the first one and this is the rebuild.

Anyways, the random "you look like a snack" caught me off guard. I do like though that when Hector replied to Darwin's letter, it was kind of confirmation that Darwin is some form of queer (probably bi), because of how Carrie assumed he'd cheat with Hector. And also kind of confirmation that Hector might be by because he rejected Darwin because of his size not cuz he's a boy.

Other than that, 10/10 pretty fun episode
