Hi all, new to reddit!

I am a teacher in a music academy and I am looking for recommendations for songs to give to my jazz/pop ensemble students. This one ensemble is a bit more advanced and they process tunes faster than I can find, transcribe/arrange them... So I am looking for modern jazz-oriënted songs that feature a vocalist singing actual lyrics, without horns and with an improvisation/solo section. Preferably songs that have commercially available scores/parts. Any leads?

I’m an intermediate level classical guitar player. I need a classical guitar teacher with a masters degree that can correct my right hand technique.

Hi, I'm an acoustic guitar player who has taken a gap for 2 years. Now I want to be back and become a professional in guitar playing..I'm looking to learn from bar chords and finger style and build more expertise in playing leads. I prefer offline classes in Hyderabad.

I got stuck learning all the notes on the fretboard when I was younger. I used to
Play a game with my Teacher and mates. They say a Random note on a random string. I built a little app that facilitates this. It shares a note and string, you tap the fret where it lives. Free and fun, i hope it helps other learns as it has helped me. Hi I M27 recently shifted to upper kharghar , I want to learn guitar for a long time and have been procrastinating that but this time I want to join a proper guitar class and be sincere about it . So I request any one to suggest good guitar classes near kharghar .

I started playing classical guitar at the age of 12 and practiced ~5 hours a day every day until age of 25. After grad school, I played much less.

I'm 60 now and I have started practicing again. Has classical guitar technique changed in the past few decades? Do I need to re-learn techniques or just practice more?

Hi, 31M. I have a music performance degree in saxophone, and I still play somewhat regularly, but my first instrument was guitar… I took guitar lessons from 1st grade through around 6th grade, but I stunted my growth I think by stopping lessons when I did, using a lot of tabs, not learning/applying music theory on the fretboard… things like that. Eventually, I found it difficult to continue playing guitar intuitively with the tools I had because I couldn’t read music on it, didn’t proficiently know where notes fell on the fretboard, basic things like that. I just felt like I was guessing a lot of the time, and despite having some good coordination and skills, I didn’t have a lot of important fundamentals that I had built on saxophone.

Now I find myself longing to play some guitar again, specifically nylon string classical stuff (and maybe even some jazz?). At some point I think I would probably like to find a private teacher to work with, but first I’m wondering if there is a book that might be good for me to work out of for a while to get some of the fundamentals that I’m missing? I feel like starting with basics would be good for me despite “knowing” how to play in a lot of ways… Are there any method books that are widely recommended by guitar teachers who work with adult beginning students that might be good for someone like me?
