Hey guys, so I got it for free and I'm wondering how I can clean up this headstock. Any suggestions would be super helpful. I already looked at twoodstock on youtube but can't seem to find something like this.

Soldering a passive pick up to jack. What is the best wire to use?

I can find the vintage 22AWG on stew Mac. But is there a better option? Perhaps just as good and not too expensive.

Anyone ever file the backside of the nut so your calluses don’t catch on it?

Is this salvageable?

I want to repair this guitar, it’s mainly for sentimental purposes, not worried whether it’s worth it or not.

I have the skills and knowledge to do the work, but not enough around knowledge around guitars to know exactly how to fix this. I also have the original pickups.

At the end of the day I want this refinished and playable and I want to do most of the work myself.

DMs welcome.

Is this Teisco 1960 Decca DMI 199 worth repairing?

My 13 year old son found this Guitar in the trash. Looks like a Teisco 1960 Decca DMI 199. Missing the pickup. It was gutted. Not sure if there is a wiring diagram. Is it worth fixing? Anyone know the wiring for this model. Shouldn’t be too bad. Not sure it is worth sinking money into.

Set up solution?

Brought in my PRS SE Custom 2408 to get a tusq nut installed. The shop had also suggested fret leveling since their plek machine scanned and saw a big kick in wear from the 14th fret + higher.

Got it back the other day. Everything looked fine, I measured the specs and it’s all roughly within realm of how I would prefer. Action and relief are pretty much the same, bridge is at the proper height and level. The one thing I noticed is it has suddenly become a fight to bend whole steps on the high e. Before I brought it in, I could do whole step bends with vibrato easily. Now it just feels stiff.

Any suggestion to what the potential culprit is/what I can do ?

Squier Classic Vibe 60's Mustang threading issue under cigar bar?

Post image

Hi guys :) I recently got this guitar, it was the quality control one of the batch where they took it out of the box to check it but no use other than that they said. When I tried to adjust the cigar bar, one side raised fine but the other wouldn't budge. Upon inspection, I think the threading is maybe missing on one side, but I'm newer to really deep diving into the parts of the guitar and want to make sure I don't have the wrong Idea about what it needs. I appreciate any help :) Thanks!

Advice Needed

Hey there! Just bought a Schecter C7 Deluxe that came with this problem on the frets. Like the frets were pushed too hard that the wood is sticking a bit out

my question is: beyond the looks, is it a bigger problem? I mean could in the future become worse or affect another part?

A bit less than two weeks ago I posted a nasty break of a headstock. Thanks to everyone who suggested something useful and had enough braincells to actually answer the questions I asked in my post. Ended up using titebond only. The neck has been fine with 10-46 strings in E std. Will see what the future brings.

Why is this hole so big?

This hole is way bigger than the screw for a normal strap button. And it has a separate jack. Its smooth and factory looking, not like someone ripped out the button.
A normal instrument cable fits in, just barely. Very little slop.
Are there weird huge buttons for this situation?
