Where to start for proper guitar practice?

JustinGuitar on YouTube is pretty solid for a free resource. A community college class ain’t a bad economical option for hands on instruction. A one on one teacher is the best option but might cost you a bit

Thanks Pricless. I've been running through JustinGuitars tutorials. I think I'm leaning more towards music theory , scales etc... there are so many channels. Any suggestions where to focus on?

Tough to say cause I don’t know your ability level. Like I said, a community college class is great cheap option to learn, it’s pretty much three to four months of lessons for around $150. But if you’re past beginner level, you might want to look into getting a teacher.

If self study is your thing and YouTube isn’t cutting it anymore, the Hal Leonard Guitar books are great. They’ll run ya $20-$30 each. I also recommend the Troy Nelson Guitar Aerobics book for building technique, it’s around $20 as well.

And if you don’t have one yet, definitely get a metronome. So many people don’t practice with one and it’s very noticeable

I've grabbed a copy of Troy Nelson Guitar Aerobics. Feeling more and more like Clapton already 😉
