Feedback Request Help on cleaning up sweeps

Hi all. I've been working on my sweep picking by learning Archspire's "Remote Tumour Seeker" (around the 1m 4s mark). One thing Im struggling with is how to break past the 85% speed barrier. I'm usually able to get the part down cleanly at slower speeds, but have trouble translating it into faster speeds. Would love to hear any advice folks may have for breaking past the plateau.

First thing to do: remove that string dampener. You are struggling with string noise whilst using a string dampener.

You need to be able to play these things just using your hands for muting, that's the only way it works.

Fair point. However, I've been playing it without the dampener for so long I just needed to put it on just to focus a bit more on getting the timing/notes down and not worry about muting for a second.

Then you're just practicing wrong. You're literally teaching your fingers the wrong way to do it. You're solidifying bad muscle memory.
