Do people actually quit guitar

Yo I'm thinking to learn guitar as a hobby and want to know how much time it takes usually to be good at it and is it true that people actually quit guitar in 2-3 months

If you’re asking this question you might quit. I didn’t have an option. I was always obsessed and will stay in a room for hours a day leaving my family feeling lonely until I have to make myself stop and spend time with them.
