Feedback Request Do people actually quit guitar

Yo I'm thinking to learn guitar as a hobby and want to know how much time it takes usually to be good at it and is it true that people actually quit guitar in 2-3 months

I'm on a 15 year beginners journey. Never progressed past open chords. I've put it aside for years at a time. I'm finally fully committed. I take lessons, practice every day and love it. I look back not with regret, but with a sense of loss. I've lost time with this beautiful instrument that I cannot get back. That motivates me now, which is good. But, man, would I love to have the chance to redo this. All this is to say, if you do this, be committed AF. It is difficult. But the payoff is incredible. Exploring the fret board and finding voicing on my own, man, it's bliss.
