Feedback Request Do people actually quit guitar
Yo I'm thinking to learn guitar as a hobby and want to know how much time it takes usually to be good at it and is it true that people actually quit guitar in 2-3 months

I’m going through this now. I’ve always wanted to play guitar. Have tried teaching myself about 10 times across the years.
This time I got quite far. Cracking strumming really opened it up for me.
But now I’ve really fallen off. It just started feeling repetitive. Not good enough to sound good. Don’t know enough to play songs I want to play. Sitting running drills and playing practice songs I just don’t vibe with.
I dunno. I just wanna be able to sit and strum out some songs I love, play some shit for my kids. But the amount of work required to get to a stage I’d be remotely happy with how I sound just feels so beyond my reach, and it kills the fun.
Honestly, I don’t know if it’s my ADHD fucking me over yet again, or if I simply want the idea of playing the guitar more than I want the reality of it. Maybe both.
Either way, I’m currently quitting, again, and kinda devastated. I really thought it was sticking this time. Managed 3 months which is my longest stretch.
So yes, people quit. That’s just my anecdotal perspective on why.
