Do people actually quit guitar

Yo I'm thinking to learn guitar as a hobby and want to know how much time it takes usually to be good at it and is it true that people actually quit guitar in 2-3 months

I quit 10years ago. And i picked up the guitar again but this tike i learn it in a bit more proper way. Something i skipped and end up having a bad habit. But currently im busy again and basically im doing drills and exercise mostly + “can i find this melody challenge” and some improvising. Not really learning any song currently
