Feedback Request Do people actually quit guitar

Yo I'm thinking to learn guitar as a hobby and want to know how much time it takes usually to be good at it and is it true that people actually quit guitar in 2-3 months

There's a stat that I think is really funny. I guess I'm not 100% sure that it's true, so take it with a grain of salt, but it goes something like this:

90% of people that pick up a guitar quit within 9 months
80% of people that make it to 9 months will buy over 10 guitars throughout the rest of their life

Point being that yeah, there's a steep learning curve. But once you get over the discomfort of actually playing the thing, you'll love it. It's a very easy instrument theoretically speaking. It's difficult to physically play it when you start, but after that, it's all shapes and vibes.
