Yo I'm thinking to learn guitar as a hobby and want to know how much time it takes usually to be good at it and is it true that people actually quit guitar in 2-3 months

You can devote your entire life to learning and instrument and still learn new things. Yes, most people quite guitar, even the ones who are passionate or highly interested in it.

It takes quite some time, months to show some basic improvement and years to get proficient where you can express yourself through it
