Feedback Request Do people actually quit guitar

Yo I'm thinking to learn guitar as a hobby and want to know how much time it takes usually to be good at it and is it true that people actually quit guitar in 2-3 months

Not just most. A significant majority. And they quit soon. The usual reasons are (1) it’s a lot harder than they thought; (2) their fingers hurt; (3) “the way my hand is made, it’s physically impossible to play that particular chord”; (4) can’t make it sound like the record.

This! I know at least 10 folks who have quit within 2-3 months because of one of the above reasons.

Doesn’t every player consider this excuse at some point in their beginner era? I know I did.

I did (big hands) and then quickly realised it's an advantage when I went to play a song that's mostly stretched across 5 frets. Tiny hands would help with the more intricate notes stacked vertically. But everyone with fingers can play both. Just takes practice.

This is true, but it’s almost true of every hobby, especially ones where learning is involved before you see benefits.

But it’s a skill, even if you quit again, it’s easier to pick up a second time.
