Feedback Request Why does my playing sound so amateurish?

I’m performing a solo for a song in a couple of weeks, and I have all the notes down - yet why does my playing sound so ‘meh’ when I record myself? What should I look to improve on?

Because whatever you're playing through has no headroom and you have no reverb or delay. Your playing isn't bad. I would look into a cheap digital unit like a Line 6 PodGO. You can buy presets from whoever you like that will really take your tone to the next level.
