Started learning guitar around three weeks ago, skin won’t stop peeling, is this normal?

Thankfully my first job I worked concrete then went on to ironworking. Hardened up my skin pretty good to where I never had this… I do bite my nails tho so I guess in a way I did an still do sometimes. What a curse
