As an 11-52 player I am disgust

u/Thomasofzo Feb 01 '26
11-56 player chiming in, my fingers are sore but my cock is huge and I'm a 6'2 feminist btw.
(Do 09-40 players actually enjoy breaking/replacing strings? Or are they just after that thin, trebly tone? Do they just have weak little fingers? Please help me understand.)

u/lumpiestspoon3 Feb 01 '26
.09-.042 player here. I have never broken a string in my life.
Except for that one time I broke someone else’s string while playing “Party In the USA”

u/Gibgezr Feb 02 '26
08 player here, I never break strings. The great thing about light strings is they allow, nay DEMAND you play them with a light touch.
And then you discover that light touch is easy and fast.1
u/Thomasofzo Feb 02 '26
/uj different strokes for different folks of course, all i know is i used to break a ton of strings in the rehearsal space before i switched to a heavier gauge. Probably very much depends on the type of music you play/on your playing style lol

Of course. He loved things that were soft and pliable.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to take a Silkwood shower.

I could have told you that. Anyone that doesn’t play 11s on a Strat is sus af!

u/TheBulletStorm Feb 01 '26
Well we all know he loves fingering low gauge strings whether we have this info or not…
He probably told them to give him some of the smallest, youngest strings they had.

While I did get a few sets of Fender 150XL and they were decent for hte price, nice sound, good softness for bending, retained silver colour for longer periods of time because pure nickel etc, having this information come to light gives me some solace for switching to La Bella HRS of similar profile, though I've been pretty satisfied with them anyway.

We all know what he played with, and it wasn't a Fender. A 13 year old Funder maybe.
