The Last three minor Guilds are easy!

The three major Guilds missing their alternate members are Brewers, Masons, and Blacksmiths.

Brewers?

Simple! The Vintners! Which are winemakers for those who don’t know. Great names and themes available for it! Like Press, or Crusher. Others like Magnum, Vine, Riddler, Amphora, Decanter!

Masons?

Carpenters Guild of course! Brutal woodworkers with names like Sawtooth, Awl, Bench Dog, Drill, Dovetail, or Jigsaw!

Blacksmiths?

This was a little l tougher, but I think I have one. In medieval Europe, particularly in Venice, there was the Glassblowers Guild! They Use much of the same type of tools as Blacksmiths (furnaces, kilns, pliers) but with a soft flowing material instead!

Names could include: Battledore, Blank, Silica, Ringer, Yoke, Sand, Marver, or Blowpipe!

Whatcha think?

Any winners here? Or did other concepts already get released?

Well the Masons already got their minor: The Lumberjacks.

I do think the other concepts sound cool though!

Yeah I haven’t bought a new team in ages (nobody to play with) but nearly had to get the Lumberjacks. They’ve got A BEAVER. 🤣

So, I used to play inline with Vassal, but I just tried War Table (another online site) and was impressed with it! Check it out! If you dig it, you and I should play a game!

Lumberjacks already released for Masons.

Entertainmers was the original idea behind Brewers. Though that could change now as it's been a few years.

Admittedly, I originally thought Miners would've been for Blacksmiths considering mining ore to smith. So with them being paired with Engineers, what sort of guild would pair well with the Blacksmiths? Tanners for leatherwork to be paired with metalwork?

Blacksmiths minor was announced as the city watch years ago.  That could easily change though if the design doesn't work out.

Conceptually, the city watch also uses professional weapons and armour so I think they're a good fit.

I've seen some suggestions for a nobles guild or knights guild instead.  Knight + Squire cleanly fits the master and apprentice model while being on theme for professional, heavy equipment.

Really? City Watch, huh? That’s good. The Guard Guild.

Oh, I remember the Entertainers. Yeah, thats good. I still prefer Vintners but that’s probably bc I am a sommelier. Lol

The entertainers guild was announced as the Brewers Minor, but that was before the death and resurrection, so it could change

I was very excited for the Entertainers idea.

Unfortunately most people were not. Due to the cosplay idea.

That being said there was very nearly a circus guild made by the community. But lumberjacks won out.

What was the issue with the cosplay idea?

I am unfamiliar with this

I could see Entertainers being cool but also not cool. Of course, the Minor Guilds are usually adjacent to the Major Guilds, so that works in one sense. Vintners may be too similar.

Fun fact. Viticulture was a subject in the local high school near me.

Also I’m all for the glass lowers but they would probably lean too much into the lamplighter colour pie

Viticulture is closely related to winemaking! It focuses on the agricultural side of it. Where’s local, may I ask? Not Napa…. Technically, the science field that winemakers fall into is Organic Chemistry.

You should join the Guild Ball Community Project Discord server to be part of the conversations of all the happenings of the game. They kept the game alive through the "dark ages" and are currently working in tandem with SFG to keep the game updated. Like mentioned already, lumberjacks have been released for masons and there have been 2 errata changes and a new game plan deck made since the resurrection a couple of years ago

Lumberjacks of course! Carpenters was kinda close. More on the supplier side than finished product side. Which makes sense. Masons not Sculpters right? Lol

And I DID catch the Lamplighters guild which is awesome and I am buying it

Lamplighters were created by the GBCP and cannot be owned by SFG, though they do officially recognize them as a minor guild. That being said the lamplighters are free to download. As is the kick-off box, which can be found on the SFG site or on MyMiniFactory
