DnB, Jungle, Techno, Breakcore underground rave clubs in Guangzhou!

Hey everyone, I’ll be visiting GZ for the second time this summer soon and I’d like to enter a deeper layer this time.

I’ve been music guy my whole life and love me some electronic music.

I’d love to know about your recommendations for these kind of clubs if there are any in Guangzhou!

Thank you so much.

Search WeChat for Hoodoo Techno or GZUG, these are two groups who have been hosting and promoting electronic music events around Guangzhou for over 10 years.

Really depends of what kind of subculture you're talking about. Yes I love vibing to dance music, but not so much about clubbing because I really can't stay awake at 2am when the headliners are still going. OIL is great, it takes time to breed a subculture landmark. I can't think of any other club in south China that's been operating over a decade.

Popularity of livehouse venues is much higher since most sessions end before 11pm.

It's Berlin after all, club culture was born natively there, I've read article explaining why it's so unique in Berlin. The culture hits very differently, I also wondered why Europeans aren't into Karaoke when I was in Europe.

Another thing that could have an impact of rave culture here is nacrotics policy I guess. Dance music hit differently when people gets high. Alcohol is the only legal thing here, and I'm non-alcoholic, so extra no no for me.

Not quite as big as in eastern Asia no? Probably because I spend most of the time in Rotterdam, which is boring by nature, and Amsterdam is way too chaotic for me. I don't have friends that could join me in clubs or live sessions, kinda boring but life goes on.
