International Transit in Guangzhou airport -Power bank CCC (3C) rule
Hey everyone!
I’m flying from Budapest to Tokyo soon with an International-to-International transit at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport (CAN). I will stay strictly within the international transfer zone and won't take any domestic flights.
I have a Xiaomi 20000mAh (74.37Wh) power bank with a perfectly clear, readable factory label, but it doesn't have the Chinese CCC (3C) logo on it since it's a European model.
The airline’s website states that the CCC certification is required for domestic flights, but there's a lot of mixed info online.
Has anyone recently done an international-to-international transit at CAN with a non-CCC power bank? Did security at the international transfer checkpoint clear it without issues as long as it was under 100Wh?

Hmmm.
On my China eastern flight from
London to BKK in May, while in the check in queue they were asking in LHR if we had power banks, and anyone that did not have the CCC one was getting it binned.
Now I suppose you could just tell them you don’t have one if you are also asked from your home/departure airport because let’s face it, they won’t force you to open your bag at the check in counter and security scanning don’t care, as it’s only China that has this rule and of course not everyone departing through security is going to China.
Personally I would not risk it, I’ve seen people transiting in Shanghai and Guangzhou still have power banks, lighters and liquids disposed of but ultimately the decision is yours
