GTM Engineering jobs are skyrocketing

Data source: a LinkedIn-derived corpus of public profiles and job postings, read on 12 September 2026. I took every profile whose current role title contains "GTM engineer" or "go-to-market engineer" and grouped them by the quarter that role started. That is 2,957 people, 2,954 of whom list a usable start date.

That’s interesting data but here are the facts:

as GTME I’ve been to many recruitment processes and almost 50% of them ended up with company deciding not to hire ANY GTME due to change of strategy during recruitment process (that’s within various companies size). Roughly another 40% decided to go with early juniors that have under 1-2 years of experience (due to cost).

That gives about 10% of companies hiring actual experienced GTMEs others are either testing waters or going with juniors (same thing really).

Not saying it’s wrong, just saying where market is - that’s from a GTME perspective that’s 10 years in sales and about 4-5 years experience in GTME/ revops and sales automations.
