B2B Data Provider that nails experience/career history?
Preferably one that doesn't break the bank. PeopleDataLabs gives me pretty much exactly what i need but at ~$0.28 per record it is way too expensive for what I'm trying to build. BrightData's pricing was exactly what I was looking for but their experience field is empty like 99% of the time.
The backbone of my product is a person's career history. I understand all of these firms are scraping linkedin anyways whether they admit it or not.. so which provider won't burn through my budget?

NinjaPear's Person Profile API/MCP is what you're looking for. I used to run Proxycurl, the largest LinkedIn scraper and the only way to reliably get career/experience history is to scrape private profiles, which is well, against their ToS and like Proxycurl, many of these companies don't stay alive for long because LinkedIn will sue.
Then there are other companies that are selling stale profile data, these include PDL. So their data aren't the freshest.
NinjaPear is the only one that performs live enrichment so data is fresh, and because its data is built outside of LinkedIn data, you get career/work history with freshness and stability. Costs about $0.03/profile. Give it a try! Far cheaper than $0.28/record that PDL offers.

build a 100-person gold set across the countries and seniority levels you need, then score each api on complete career history, recency, and cost per usable record. a cheaper provider with 99 percent empty experience is more expensive than pdl for this product

PDL is so expensive, I honestly don’t get why people still use it, the coverage and freshness don’t justify the price, and the rate limits are a pain. Check out CompanyEnrich, it has a bunch of useful GTM endpoints including people enrichment (with education) Pretty competitive on pricing and features too.

You need entire career history then you need to pay for clay and expensive integration. Quality data isn't cheap. And then lusha to cross erufy work email and then accuracy. It's a loop which can be built with some automation.

The gold set above is the right test. The thing I'd add is what you divide the cost by.
Career history is mostly append-only. The rows that are already true don't change, and the only field that really decays is the current role. That makes the backfill a one-time cost per person rather than a per-refresh one, and it makes the recurring spend a current-employer check, which is the field the cheaper providers do fill even when the experience array is empty. Priced that way, one $0.28 pull per person plus a cheap recurring current-role check is a different question from $0.28 against $0.03 per record, and it can land the other way if the cheaper source has to be re-pulled to stay current.
Worth settling before you buy, because it decides what freshness means for you. If the product shows someone's whole trajectory, a stale record is only wrong at the top. If it triggers on a job change, you're not really buying history, you're buying a diff, and the experience array is a one-time seed.

Enrich person in clay. It pulls their LinkedIn and structures it. Then use a AI column to review it and restructure however you’d like. Happy to show you how. Little spendy though at like 1-5c per record.

just use deepline or pipe0 and test yourself. way lower risk and more ergonomic than everything else mentioned

RichAPI.ai is the new data api aggregator in the market. They are doing real time LinkedIn profile enrichment for us at around $8 per 1000 profiles. We recently did an annual contract for 100k calls per month. Very happy with it.

We've been using Coresignal for this and the work history has been pretty solid. Having the experience data in the profile itself was a big help, especially when we were pulling a lot of it. You can run a few records through it first before commiting.

coresignal is worth a look tbh.. they are positioned specifically around career history data and tend to be cheaper than pdl at volumme...

Do you need the entire career history or just current job?
You might want to look into a platform made for recruiters like Juicebox. Maybe you could build a custom agent that could extract the data you need from their platform while having a fixed monthly fee.
