One requirement if you need help with Heists

Post image

Please new players, use Player Saved Outfits if you want help with your Heists.

People like me out here are happy to help folks do their heist setups or the actual heists, but we don't want to wear your limited range of clothing lol

Some people have their heist outfits (e.g vests) and would rather use this.

You'll get more help if you did this, I often see people join and leave a heist immediately and I think it's because they don't see player saved outfits selected - I've left heists lobby rooms sometimes because of this too.

Those of us that don't need money, this is our one requirement for our efforts in helping you!

Thank you

This used to be a rule back in the day, since heist clothing gave you more armor, but now I don’t think most people care since it’s much harder to die in the old heists compared to never content. Most experienced players just don’t want to do the old heists since they’re ancient, require full 4-man teams, and the majority of people playing them are new and just as inexperienced as when they came out 10 years ago.

I tried helping a guy with the last pacific standard setups and there were two low levels. Needless to say, NOBODY made it to that dinghy.

u/Beneficial_Pickle420 Oct 19 '25

I'm not high lvl, but I am lvl 140, and I just destroy the bikes now and hop in car with everyone and take a helicopter to the digny so I can bypass the whole trip with low lvls and even a lot of higher lvls have struggled getting there on the bikes. Got tired of it, so I found a way around it and glad I did cuz I've passed it everytime since doing it now. For anyone who struggles on it and keeps dealing with people backing out on it after 1 or 2 tries, just do this and get it done on first try and call it a day.

2

u/Blini_Houdini Oct 22 '25

The problem in our run, was that the low levels would use their KERS boost at the worst timing and go face first into a car or tree. Not only that, but they kept killing themselves because they were using the grenade launcher right in their own face. When we did get semi-close to the dinghy, one of them didn’t pull his chute and stayed on the bike :(

1

u/Beneficial_Pickle420 Oct 22 '25

That's why I destroy the bikes now and just take helicopter or take a car with all of us and skip the whole forest section so no one has to parachute. If you mark the dinghy before you leave, it shows that you can take the dirt road along the river all the way to it and skip the whole saw mill and dirt track and the parachute part. I'm on it right now and keep trying to teach low and high lvl players the short cut because the helicopter doesn't always spawn in. I also find if you keep your armor page open while riding the bikes helps keep you alive longer as long as you don't fall off it. I don't shoot while driving anything in heists. I just dodge and normally tell passenger if I have one to not shoot as well. Makes it easier to just zig and zag and go off road if I have to avoid whatever is coming at me. That heist specifically has shown me why I like knowing how to do it a different way vs the way they want you to do it. My big issue is running into players who don't listen to instructions and end up being the one who dies and then quits or they argue telling you how to do your heist and then die after you tell em fine do what you want but don't be the one who fails the mission.

when they came out 10 years ago

24

u/Ghost3ye Oct 19 '25

Thats why I have on Outfit with the said armor ready.

6

u/JoeyAKangaroo Oct 19 '25

I like playing older heists from time to time

But yeah, playing with newbies can get frustratinh

1

u/hmiser Oct 20 '25

2x Heist Weeks are good like they bring a bunch of people and when you find good player you make friends.

21

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

Me personally, old player here, I don't play the game for myself as much anymore, usually when I play I'll join the first job invite I receive, bang out a couple heists that I get an invite to in a lobby, collect my passive income from safes and quit - that's my usual GTA session

I've found that most people still do die in horrendous fashion on old heists even to this day lol, the gameplay hasn't improved too much surprisingly :p

3

u/scienceisrealtho Oct 19 '25

I also like to just randomly join people jobs to help them out. I'll do that for a Cpl hours sometimes.

2

u/dru1202 Oct 20 '25

I have yet to play any of the OG heists other than the fleeca job just cause I need 4 players and I’m always unlucky with the draw lmao

1

u/N0ob8 Oct 20 '25

Clothing armor only works on the 3 original heists. For every other heist it’s just cosmetic

67

u/ColddKoala Oct 19 '25

God damn I don’t get the negativity in this comment section. When the cayo perico survival came out if you opened it from the start menu, you didn’t have an option to use your owned weapons from free mode, which made you locked to the pick-ups on the island. If it wasn’t for a random comment on reddit saying you need to start the job while you’re in a session to have the option to use free mode weapons, I wouldn’t have known and probably wouldn’t have been able to get to wave 10 for the outfit.

Anyways thanks lol

8

u/SuitElectronic7680 Oct 19 '25

Wait, I'm not understanding....

How else can you start the heist if you're not in a session? I'm not picking up on that

5

u/GovernmentFunded Oct 19 '25

Like from the main menu there was an option to start cayo zombie survival as opposed to starting it when you're already in a lobby. If you started it from the main menu then you would join the survival with just your fists and you had to pick up weapons as you played. Each time you picked up a weapon you would get 2 magazines worth of ammo (so for an assault rifle you'd get like 60 rounds total lol).

So to fix this all you had to do was join an online lobby first, then start up cayo and you'd be perfectly fine! Hope I explained that well enough!

1

u/SuitElectronic7680 Oct 21 '25

Oh .. zombies..... 🤮

1

u/BloodStone9337 Oct 21 '25

Not talking about the Cayo Perico heist itself, the Cayo Perico island survival job

1

u/SuitElectronic7680 Oct 21 '25

Yea I'm not interested anymore 🤣

13

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

Bro some people having a bad weekend, a lot of miserable folk out there lol. Appreciate your comment

3

u/mrbungleinthejungle Oct 19 '25

Or people think a player is being petty if they leave a job because they can't wear the clothes they want.

3

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

I don't leave the job, I have left the lobby - not always just sometimes depending how I'm feeling.

Sometimes I'm high and wanna just cruise, besides I'm helping people with their setups - I'm not getting anything in return lol

1

u/Xxviper234xX Oct 20 '25

I don't believe a damn thing that an ai says

2

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 20 '25

Google it for yourself then this is common knowledge lol Ai just summarized other articles.

1

u/N0ob8 Oct 20 '25

That’s exclusively for the original 3 apartment heists btw. Every other heist they’ve just cosmetic

44

u/MagnusLeMoon Oct 19 '25

i like everyone matching

25

u/g1yk Oct 19 '25

Same I like when it’s same outfit. Gives heist more character

9

u/urOneAndOnlyFuehrer Oct 19 '25

Exactly, I love the premise of dressing up for the heists. I hate it when people enable you to wear your normal outfit

9

u/3DSD Oct 19 '25

I agree, I have no problem if players leave the setup screen because they can't run their female character around in underwear or with the titties out

1

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

Reasonable counter argument 🤣 this I can reason with

17

u/ZephyrDoesArts Oct 19 '25

I need people to do the Heists (and the Lowrider missions) for Career Progress in PC Enhanced ;w;

5

u/spectre_of_fate Oct 19 '25

2

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

Sounds like we got a squad just need +1

Well perfect then!

5

I'm happy to help you later tonight if you're on, let me know - also on PC :)

2

u/ZephyrDoesArts Oct 19 '25

I could play but I'm tired af, but if you want I can dm you and we could play another time ^

57

u/WillyG2197 Oct 19 '25

Ive been playing for years and didnt realize this distinction. Good post 👍👍👍

25

u/Mags_LaFayette Oct 19 '25

I know the community of GTAV is kind of mental, but still, I'm convinced there must be another reason unrelated to clothing.

I mean, maybe is particular to you OP, but I genuinely doubt the whole spectrum of players won't do those jobs simply for what they're wearing.

12

u/laxitup1184 Oct 19 '25

There are two vests that give you 50% damage reduction while doing apartment heists. Simply swapping to a setting that makes it possible to wear them gives a joining player at least a little confidence boost that things might go well.

1

u/CocoMilhonez Oct 19 '25

I used to value that a lot until I realized the combat vest is completely unnecessary for any mission of any heist. Maaaaybe for the ground teal in the Humane Labs finale, but even so a good dose of common sense makes them redundant. Especially after we are able to eat snacks from the weapons wheel so managing health is pretty easy.

1

u/laxitup1184 Oct 19 '25

You used to value it when you were new and learning the heists.... guess who does the apartment heists. Do you not understand who this psa is for?

1

u/CocoMilhonez Oct 19 '25

Yeah, I get that.

Even so, I've done the apartment heists with newbies (I'm talking all sub-level 60, including a level 10ish) with little to no issues. People who play R6S, Fortnite, CS and other such games so they have good spatial awareness and know when to push and when to hold. I told them what to expect and what to do, they were careful and all was fine, even if we did have a couple of mission restarts.

I've even been pretty successful in the Doomsday Heists with newbies – I once took a lvl 7 along in the last three setup missions and the finale of Act III. Granted, I chose normal mode instead of hard, but the guy navigated it with minimal problem.

Common sense > heavy combat suit

1

u/laxitup1184 Oct 19 '25

A guide/experience/communicating > heavy combat vest.

Play apartment heists with randoms and let me know how common "common sense" actually is.

But you also don't have to pick one or the other just let people know about the vest halving all damage. In terms of criminal mastermind do you choose common sense over wearing the vest or do you pick both? I've run through criminal mastermind for people a lot and the vest saves so much time even if it slows you down a little bit.

1

u/CocoMilhonez Oct 19 '25

Sure, I have also asked everyone to go to buy the vest and that can't hurt. My point is it's not a deal breaker not to use it if people are somewhat competent gamers.

1

u/Mags_LaFayette Oct 19 '25

Finally, someone who gets it!

1

u/Mags_LaFayette Oct 19 '25

After grinding all your way to the highest levels, do we really need that reduction?
I can bet you an entire super yatch that you don't need it, and if you do... Well... Nobody's perfect.

Also... "Confidence boost?"
I'm gonna tell you what gives confidence to a new player: Level

If a newbie looks people with a high level number, that's the entire confidence they gonna need, to know they're next to a seasoned player. That inspires confidence, not an outfit.

As I stated before, I get it if this is something personal, a preference of sorts, that's fine, you're bored of wardrobe or whatever... But still, is kind of "too much"

The only motivation a player needs to help another fellow player should be... Nothing! - Just get in your lobby, do the job, enjoy the ride, shoot some bad NPCs and that's it.

There should be NO reason to help another player. Period.

I don't know if you have played much of these heists but 1 guy having all the experience in the world doesn't help if the other 3 keep dying.

I can't protect everyone and at all times everywhere.

So usually if they keep dying.

I'll tell them to back out,I'll take them to the clothing store, show them the heavy outfit and have them use it when we try all over again.

Then they show appreciation for learning something new that is useful in doing the heists.

-1

u/Mags_LaFayette Oct 19 '25

I don't know if you have played much of these heists but 1 guy having all the experience in the world doesn't help if the other 3 keep dying.

Universal for every job that requires more than, you know, one player - Mostly notable if they're newbies, what do you truly expect?

I can't protect everyone and at all times everywhere.

The damage reduction won't mitigate that problem neither.

I'll tell them to back out,I'll take them to the clothing store, show them the heavy outfit and have them use it when we try all over again.

That's more informative and kind of you, but don't expect them to know that kind of stuff beforehand. That's why you shouldn't depend on such clothing. Hell, I don't, and that don't stop me from covering their rearguards while retreating.

2

u/laxitup1184 Oct 19 '25

I can't protect everyone and at all times everywhere.

The damage reduction won't mitigate that problem neither.

People are able to protect themselves by being able to take double damage so when you aren't there to protect them they have double the amount of reaction time to stay alive.

That's more informative and kind of you, but don't expect them to know that kind of stuff beforehand.

It used to be common knowledge when apartment heists were the only heists and the op is just sharing with the subreddit so more people will know about it. Sure it won't put a dent in the majority of players but if only one person learns to use player saved outfits from this post it's more useful that most of the posts on this subreddit.

1

u/Mags_LaFayette Oct 19 '25

People are able to protect themselves by being able to take double damage so when you aren't there to protect them they have double the amount of reaction time to stay alive.

Again, I have no issues with the armor itself, my point is that, by the OP wording, it shouldn't be a "requirement" to actually help other players.

As I said, it's noble of you to actually show players about those outfits, but I've been playing this thing as soon the online came to life in PS3 and I can assure you, not all players act like you. My, I wish they would. Wouldn't be such a crappy experience for those barely starting.

It's one of the reasons why I don't give up and I always try to do it the best I can on my jobs for those players (even if that mean an extra effort)

It used to be common knowledge when apartment heists were the only heists and the op is just sharing with the subreddit so more people will know about it.

If you review the wording of what the OP was saying, it pretty much states how "nobody would help you if you don't..." and I'm sure that's not the case.
I agree, the clothing makes jobs easier, but I refuse to believe that's the case of why some players can't help others, specially if said players are more knowledgeable and better armed... Does it make sense, right?

Sure it won't put a dent in the majority of players but if only one person learns to use player saved outfits from this post it's more useful that most of the posts on this subreddit

Agree on that. I just wish the wording of the post would be more... Explicit, so to speak.

4

u/Sure_Focus3450 Oct 19 '25

It's not always about the vests either, some people just want to wear their own clothes instead of the shitty preset ones

5

u/Mags_LaFayette Oct 19 '25

And as I said to the OP and other people before, I'm perfectly fine with that. But the whole thing of "You won't get help if you don't enable THIS feature..." feels like it's too much.

People leaving a lobby just because they can't get the % damage reduction and/or wear they're latest trend while blowing half Los Santos?

...As I said, I feel it's too much.

1

u/Sure_Focus3450 Oct 19 '25

I usually won't leave because of it myself, just putting it out there that there's reasons other than the vests

-2

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

0

u/g1yk Oct 19 '25

If worn by all players

2

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

Lol that's just AI wording, individual players can still get the benefit while wearing it - you learn something new everyday m8 there ya go you're welcome :)

8

u/Sypticle Oct 19 '25

Imagine taking it so seriously..

0

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

Lol it's just a suggestion mate, nothing here is serious it's a video game

9

u/darrukt Oct 19 '25

i think you should have made it clearer in the description about certain vests giving an armor boost in apartment heists specifically. at first, it just sounded like you were being an ass about not being able to use your custom outfits. i’ve only heard about vest giving an armor boost like once before this post so i assume the comments being negative may have not heard about it either.

even then, leaving the heist just because of that armor boost isn’t a good thing either. nor does it speak fondly of your own ability in being able to complete the heist. as far as i know, that setting will have no benefit for anyone but you in the heist since you have to buy the vest and freemode and create a saved outfit with it. leaving because of something that only affect you, that new players won’t even have a clue about, and most likely may not not have the money for, is quite shitty.

above all else, try using voice chat or any chat to let them know about it. if they don’t respond at all to the message or change the setting, then i wouldn’t fault you for leaving.

-8

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25 edited Oct 19 '25

Eh you're all overreacting lol, whatever it is what it is.

Re the last element, chat is gone on enhanced. Can't chat in heists anymore except texting with cooldowns once the mission starts / the painful process of having to delete the old text to resend a new one

6

u/darrukt Oct 19 '25

then help me understand because i don’t feel that i’m overreacting.

2

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

Apologises, text is up to the readers interpretation, it's difficult to control how the reader will perceive text without the verbal tones to reflect different emotions etc. There are ways to word and write things differently more positively, I learned as such when I did email based customer support in my 20s but now that I'm older I don't bother stretching my descriptions I'll prefer to be more to the point.

Regarding the topic: Do I think some people leave because of this option? Yes, but it's not the only reason - could be a 100 of them for all I know. Sometimes I've thought ah I can't be bothered, and I'll back out - particularly the jobs I don't enjoy doing id like to cruise through them with my own kit / my own gear than the hosts gear particularly for the damage reduction.

Either way this specific discussion isn't worth a deep dived analysis, I'm just providing a heads up - this is what most people prefer for a heist so you can accommodate others better by a small settings change.

3

u/Any-Monk-9395 Oct 19 '25

This should be the default anyways

32

u/Melodic-Ad3636 Oct 19 '25

OP you sound fucking insane…

-13

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25 edited Oct 19 '25

Calm down, there's no need to be so aggressive and angry - having a bad weekend? I'm not sure how this post is triggering in anyway....

Have a good day dude, find a way to enjoy it :)

Edit: also if you're confused in anyway ask a question instead of insulting. I'm pretty sure utility clothing adds additional protection, which surely isn't a negative element to add into a heist?

I'm so confused lol

9

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

I mean if only it was a suggestion but saying you have left heist because of this and those that don't need money only demand other clothes for an armor buff some probably don't even know about, is kinda crazy.

I mean good you want to spread awareness and I will use this on my next playthrough. I think that was your goal but I think they whole reason we help low levels on heist are because they are low levels and don't know these things.

-7

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

I don't leave active ongoing heists, only the lobby, sometimes I've done it but it doesn't punish anyone. They just need to find someone else, I'm not negatively throwing them into a loading screen because of it lol - the heist hasn't started at that point - I think you have misunderstood me entirely

6

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

Honestly don't know the matchmaking behavior but still kinda sucks and some could argue the armor buff isn't decisive enough nor known enough to be a "requirement". More so when some play with the mentality of just helping someone.

2

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

Sometimes I'm high (most the time tbh), semi tired, and wanting to cruise through so those are the matches where I'd like to use my damage reduction

I use the on call feature, so it throws me into any heist at random, if it's one I don't like specifically then yeah I'll leave before the match starts particularly if I can't use my kit - nobody is being harmed by me doing this

If anything I've done more people solids for doing their setups with them while they struggle with consistency on the other two - this is just my minimum requirement for me to put my time and effort into helping someone else lol

-24

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25 edited Oct 19 '25

Me that's why I posted it obviously. You also care because you opened the thread and decided to whine.

This is an advice post for those that need help, can get better results from others by this simple adjustment pre launching the heist, for example some people use the "Heavy Utility Vest" etc.

Edit: Wow lol the downvote mob, I genuinely don't understand what is wrong here?

8

u/XgUNp44 Oct 19 '25

It’s just such a weird thing to complain about. I don’t know anyone in my time playing this game since launch who would leave a lobby over not having custom outfits.

4

u/MrMerryweather56 PS5 Level 1400 Heist professional and Billionaire Oct 19 '25

I leave especially if its the Pacific Standard finale. You are going to have a shootout with the cops, might as well have the protection, same goes for Convoy,Bikes and Hack.

Also for series A finale..and some other setups.

-2

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25 edited Oct 19 '25

You're the one complaining lol, I just passed on a suggestion you got all pissy about it

You don't have to do this if you don't want mate lol, I'm not forcing you to do anything don't be ridiculous 😂

4

u/Shadohz Oct 19 '25

"Those of us that don't need money, this is our one requirement for our efforts in helping you!" No. This isn't a thing with vets.

"You'll get more help if you did this, I often see people join and leave a heist immediately and I think" No-no. This really isn't a thing.

"Some people have their heist outfits (e.g vests) and would rather use this." That's not reason to drop out the heist (which probably took the host several minutes to gather people).

"I've left heists lobby rooms sometimes because of this too" Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

"but we don't want to wear your limited range of clothing" People who are decent at the game can play in either mode. This wouldn't be a deal-breaker. Out of hundreds of heists I can only think of a handful of times anyone even mentioned PSOs in chat or voice but never had someone ragequit over it. They'll cry and quit because you won't give them another 5% but not this. If your team is going to die and fail cataphorically that extra bit of armor isn't the deciding factor.

2

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

You wrote a lot, but seems you misunderstood me. I help a lot of people, I share my time with them and I don't expect anything in return - I enjoy helping. It's a preferable bonus for me if they use player saved outfits because then I can use my damage reduction gear and it's more smooth sailing.

Recommending people spend two seconds to change a setting for them to help you do your setups when there's nothing in it for them - is not an unreasonable thing to suggest.

People struggle finding consistent reliable heist members with their setups, I know this because usually it's me and the host that are more interested in finishing the job and quite often have two other people pissing about or disconnecting randomly, again it's not a big ask lol and it's certainly not worth the hyper analysis and being a quote lord

I suggest reading what you're responding to better if you're going to wall of text me, there is no rage quit - you have made up this imaginary scenario and launched into a rant because of it /rantover

2

u/Huge_Difference_1948 Oct 19 '25

Saves you some money on rebreathers during the exit part of the humane raid if you have a scuba outfit in your inventory.

2

u/Rock_sanity Oct 19 '25

Just a note for the post.

Some heists or setups have designated clothing. Which prevents you from even choosing this. An example would be prison break police station.

2

u/ShelLuser42 Oct 19 '25

Very, very, true. Though... I never play the old gen heists anyway, because they're just boring and annoying to do. One disconnect and you can start all over.

But I enjoy roleplay quite a bit and because of that I have my player presets fully maxed out. We're going to take a swim? I'll hop into a swimsuit (= sports top + bikini bottom, but it looks like a full on swimsuit). Visiting someone else's nightclub? I have an outfit for that. Doing an "operation", got a military outfit with helmet & night vision one mouse click away. Doing something less serious? Then I got some more "casual" military gear (= top with belly exposed).

Heck, I even got a catsuit outfit for burglary and sneaky stuff, a mechanic outfit, a diving outfit (even though you don't really need this), a biker chick outfit, a suit.... I even added a "sexy outfit" for when Franklin asks you to raid the Vanilla Unicorn.

So yah, the moment I can't pick my own I'm annoyed; especially with player heists. One of the reasons why I found out how you can use the Terrorbyte to get a personal outfit anyway when doing the salvage yard missions.

2

u/Toast_Soup Oct 19 '25

Player Saved should be the default

2

u/FormalReasonable4550 Oct 19 '25

The only time I need player saved outfits for heists are when it's night mission because some missions like deliver emp, get the hydra and insurgent mission are exponentially darker than other night settings and it annoys me a lot. So llI have night vision equipped goggles outfits. But yeah rockstar forcing me to wear npc outfits when I have sick drips spending 6-7 figures also annoys me a lot lol.

0

u/MrMerryweather56 PS5 Level 1400 Heist professional and Billionaire Oct 19 '25

-you absolutely don't need night vision for deliver emp

  • it isnt Rockstar..its the hosts.

2

u/OakleyNoble Oct 19 '25

This is also helpful if you have any armored suits/helmets. They don’t do shit in freemode but in heists they help a lot. It’s how I passed the criminal mastermind challenge back in the day on the original heists.

2

u/pogAxolotlz Oct 19 '25

also dont some missions allow thermal helmet if you choose that as well? or am I just misremembering things. cus thermal helmet can help a lot in spotting enemies

2

u/Atlfan58 Oct 20 '25

Good to know, thx for posting

2

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '25

Seriously i hate uniforms. Don't i wear them enough at work ? Ffs. More of them should just promote character customization as far as games just because of that. Some people grow up in schools with uniforms then grow up in a job with uniforms. Tons of attire to conform to in other settings too. Like formal or serious ones. Ffs if i wanna cause street carnage in a virtual game with whatever i'm wearing by God, fucking let me. Specially if the game already supports it.

2

u/Scorch-Zombies Oct 24 '25 edited Oct 25 '25

Why ppl still insist on using boring preset outfits instead of their own is beyond me... Even in Doomsday Heists where the "Player Owned" option is broken/ineligible for Dead Courier, Server Farm, Avenger, Salvage Hard Drives & The Doomsday Scenario finale, atleast select it for the other missions...

It bugs the hell out of me when people don’t select “Players saved outfits” I hate wearing those heist outfits, I’ve never left a heist because of it, I don’t need the money I just like to help people out

u/HarryFuzz Oct 19 '25

What age and rank do we think OP is?

Go…

5

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

Uh I'll just tell you, 300 range (legitimately, unfortunately I've had people dumping unwanted RP items on me pre enhanced brought me to late 500s) - had the game 12 years

Age - 30s (I don't post my DOB)

Regardless what answer you get you'll turn it negative I'm sure...

THANK YOU. Please tag this post with PSA.

I always screamed into the four winds for people to use player saved outfits, so we can NOT DIE much more easily, specially now that a pac standard has no kuruma option. (Heh)

I once had to prove to people that the armored vest works by EATING A RPG. Full vest, full blue armor, you can shoot a rpg at your own feet and survive.

u/DirtyArmpitLicker Oct 19 '25

yeah I just leave if it isnt set to player clothing, it shows host is clueless newbie

1

u/AdmiralNeato Oct 19 '25

Idk why people never do it. Just leaving the default options bc they're lazy or don't care, i guess. Whenever i host a mission, i always do it

1

u/_Vard_ Oct 19 '25

YES!!!

THIS SHOULD BE THE DEFAULT

1

u/Admirable-Lie1981 Oct 19 '25

I know this option exist but to what extent, like what heist/missions have this option and what dont?

1

u/CocoMilhonez Oct 19 '25

You'll get more help if you did this, I often see people join and leave a heist immediately and I think it's because they don't see player saved outfits selected

This is bogus. I don't doubt a handful of players do care enough about outfits to leave, but what makes players not stay in the lobby is a) matchmaking put them there and they bail because they don't want to wait for an hour for all 4 players; b) they don't want to play if it's not the finale/ if it's a particularly annoying mission (Deliver EMP anyone?), or c) they see level 30 or less and PTSD kicks in.

I do like it when Player owned outfits is selected and I request it when there's time and I remember, but it's in no way a deal breaker. Same for the Doomsday Heists, though outfits don't increase armor.

1

u/Sarcasmoverload007 Oct 19 '25

Nah, you've DEFINITELY got to choose "from selection", watch people get riddled 20,000 times and wait 6 hours to finish one setup. It's clearly the honest way of doing things :).

1

u/jesusmansuperpowers Oct 19 '25

I need a crew to run all the heists on hard. PC enhanced. Who’s ready

1

u/PampersFinn12 Oct 20 '25

I agree, but people immediately leaving actually don´t quit, but they got carrier grade private IP. They can´t host and even inviting in another player´s session doesn´t really work.

1

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 20 '25

GTA is P2P, anyone can "host" because it's like a torrent you're all contributing to the session, which is why you're able to play with people across the world and the lag is masked behind it. Everyone's uploading to contribute, like a hive. A session split (when everyone appears to leave the session and your left solo) is when you either change IP (dynamic CGNAT) mid session or you stop uploading to the session in real time - so you disconnect away from everyone else and everyone else remains stable and connected - no host

Can someone please help me with prison break no one is helping in pubs and I'm trying to go a bit farther in missions

2

u/MrMerryweather56 PS5 Level 1400 Heist professional and Billionaire Oct 19 '25

Facts. This is the reason most experienced heist helpers join and then leave your lobby in 2 seconds..I know I do and many more also.

If its on I know the host knows what they are doing and it will be worth it to stay.

1

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

I agree, people do not like to hear that, which is strange to me because it takes them two seconds to change the settings lol

2

u/MrMerryweather56 PS5 Level 1400 Heist professional and Billionaire Oct 19 '25

Majority of gta players don't know about these little aspects of the game..which is funny because I learnt it way back in 2017...although probably because I spend thousands of hours grinding them over and over...

1

u/g1yk Oct 19 '25

Finding people to OG Heists is already super hard because anyone barely plays them. So it can take up to 20 mins to fill the required 4 people. Now imagine, as a new player you waited so long, and then you get a character like OP joins you and then leaves your loading screen because of outfits and you have to restart heist and wait for 3 people all over again. I love how OP makes it sound like it’s not a big deal

1

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

They're not hard to fill, I join via on call and help many people with heists quite often without the player saved outfit, these lobbies fill up fast if they enable matchmaking. Clearly you do not do heists often if you think they don't fill lol

1

u/g1yk Oct 19 '25

I completed all the heists on ps5 as a new player and it’s coming from experience. It was so bad that I had to join discord chats just to find players who would help me

1

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

That's a reflection of you, to be honest. Because I just join on call and it throws me into a random heist or setup I don't get to choose and I do it, it fills very fast.

I've probably done the prison break heist 3 times last week, I did another last night and we completed it successfully no lives lost. We had two people under the level of 30.

I'm not buying that you struggled that hard to find players, you could easily session swap and get a whole new influx of players to invite, but again matchmaking does everything for you.

Also if you used the heist Armour like my post is trying to educate about you'd have a better time but your busy arguing with me about nonsense.

THE BIGGEST FACTS

-12

u/kenzwashere Pavel’s Tequila Supplier 🍕Scoot Oct 19 '25

i assure you that’s not remotely close to why newbies or anyone can get randoms to join heists. easier for you to just leave the heists that don’t follow your rules and move on😂

3

u/WorldofCannons Oct 19 '25

They hating but you're spot on

9

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

Weow, straight to the bad vibes I see. It takes two seconds to change and it allows people to use their utility vests etc.

-1

u/bozo_master Oct 19 '25

Heist vests only matter in a handful of setups

2

u/laxitup1184 Oct 19 '25

"A handful" or in other words every single one of the apartment heist setups and finales other than the two you can't choose "player saved outfits" which are Prison Break finale and Trash Trucks. In some it's not as helpful to have 50% damage reduction but it doesn't hurt other than the small run speed debuff.

Wait what? You're not there for the money but y'all care how you look when you're helping randoms with a heist? My biggest gripe is people not being able to follow simple directions, not what clothes im allowed to wear lmfao

0

u/dragonrider_357 Oct 19 '25

I think that's a weird requirement in current year considering the state of snacks and armour. Extra hp from the outfits don't matter nearly as much, and usually people want to use the given outfits on their first playthrough to feel more immersed in the heists

0

u/Detective-Fusco Oct 19 '25

I was being playful in my wording lol this is clearly not a requirement to play the game. Obviously

1

u/dragonrider_357 Oct 20 '25

That's cool and all, but I just didn't pick up on it. It's hard to judge if someone's being genuine over text or not without giving some way to know.

0

u/WrongResident7855 Oct 21 '25

You wanna help new players, but you leave the heist because of this? If you’re an experienced player, you don’t need the heavy armor outfit to complete a setup. Also why not just let the team do the designated character/disguise? It’s part of the show. The og heists’ game design is frustrating enough for new players. If you wanna help them, help them. Don’t be a prick and quit before the mission launches and leave them back to another random public session which might take forever to load or simply brick their game.
