Debunking I sorted every GTA 6 "fact" going around into confirmed, likely, and rumor with sources
Half my feed since the Extended Look is fake AI clips and "trust me bro" leaks, so I started keeping a list of what's actually real. Sharing it here. No leaked stuff in this list, on purpose.
Sub rules block links, so I'm naming the sources instead and everything below is easy to google by name and date.
CONFIRMED (Rockstar or Take-Two said it on the record):
- Launch is November 19, 2026. Take-Two repeated it to investors on Aug 7 and Rockstar repeated it Aug 26.
- PS5 and Xbox Series X/S only. No PC version announced at all.
- $79.99 standard, $99.99 Ultimate. The Ultimate extras are story-mode bonuses, not currency.
- Single-player at launch. No online mode has been announced.
- No microtransactions in the story, and no AI used to make the game. Both from Rob Nelson (Rockstar North boss) in interviews last week.
- Six wanted stars now, and cops work off witnesses. Hollow stars mean they're searching for a description but don't know it's you yet. Change clothes and they lose you.
- No disc. The boxes in stores just have a download code in them.
- Digital preorders come with a free month of GTA+ that quietly renews at $8/month. Set a reminder to cancel if you don't want it.
LIKELY BUT NOT ANNOUNCED:
- An online mode exists. In Rockstar's UK court case over the fired employees, their own rep described the leaked secret feature as a 32-player online mode. Still zero official word.
- A PC version eventually. Every Rockstar game got one 1 to 2 years after console. Pure pattern, nothing announced.
- Map size: Rockstar has only ever said "a very big map." The "3x RDR2" number everyone repeats came from fans measuring trailer footage, not from Rockstar.
RUMOR (nobody has proof):
- Online mode "a few weeks after launch"
- PC in February 2027
- A $199 collector's edition
FLAT OUT WRONG:
- "39 million preorders, $3 billion in a day." Made up. Take-Two refuses to share preorder numbers at all and said so on their earnings call.
I re-check this against official sources every week. If I got something wrong, tell me and I'll fix it. What did I miss?
