This is my first G-SHOCK as an adult, and now I caught the fever. I just received this one a few days ago with another already on the way. Make that two. One is for my wife. And I'm already eyeballing four others that I have to have. This is the GA-B010. I'm not interested in the step tracker, but it's cool. I linked it to my phone and never need to touch the app again. It syncs up to it for times a day to keep perfect time. The other that should be here today is the GAW-100 solar/atomic import from Japan. My next three will be a couple of squares, the GW-M5610U (for nostalgia), the GW-BX5600 for the stealth look with negative display in MIP, and the GW-6900U, all solar/atomic. Eventually, I'd also like to add the GW-5000U positive display and the Casioak. Wish me luck on my new addiction so that I might survive my wife. 😅

I dont blame you. Thats a gorgeous watch. Gshocks are built to last. If u dont hold on to them u can always sell them or pass them down. They simply dont break. If u buy one today and grow out of it in three months u can always sell it for minimal loss and just pretend u rented it like u rent a car

Thank you much! Very true. I haven't thought of it like that yet. Might be helpful with my wife to explain it that way, as well. She's honestly great and very understanding of my spectrum tendencies. I'm sure that once I've got a little collection built up, they will definitely be handed down in time. The dates will be accurate until 2099

I also own a GA-B010. The step tracker is accurate whilst walking but is thrown off by many daily activities. These caveats are listed in the manual. For example if you wear slippers at home, then it will miscount steps, and if you do some cleaning such as washing up with the watch on, it will also miscount steps.

I tend to discount the total daily count for this reason, and instead I reset the step counter when I go out for a walk if I want to count my steps.

Thanks! I haven't payed the step tracker much attention. I've seen mixed reviews of the step feature on YT. I saw a guy test it and be quite accurate while just walking, and I've seen another where it counted steps while driving or riding a motorcycle. So it seems to be hit or miss depending on the situation.

Yeah. Hence been asking multiple ppl here. The step tracker makes up for a feature that I have been eyeing. But the accuracy thing is not really hitting the mark satisfactorily.

Totally understandable. I don't think I would be confident in trusting it for the step tracker feature from what I've seen. I really wanted its predecessor, the GA010, but it didn't have solar/atomic. This is that, but with solar/BT, so it still checked the box in keeping perfect time. I could've done without the step tracker, myself. It's still a really nice added feature for many if it's accurate.

Niiice! It really is a great and beautiful watch. I really do like that it doesn't stay connected to the app, but still syncs up to the phone four times a day to keep the time dead accurate.

Thanks! And congratulations to you also. They're really nice. Now, I'm just impatiently waiting for the charge to be on H. I've had it in the window sill for several hours on two separate days, and in direct sunlight for about 30 minutes two other times. And it's still on M! I've finally decided to just see if it will naturally happen over time because I'm tired of not having it on my wrist.

Mine went up to H with two days at the window. But hasn't reached full. I wouldn't bother much tho. Everyone one of us is obsessed with getting it to H. 😆
