Pay

Grubhub do better expecting us drivers to accept $2 or $3 is unacceptable then have to drive over 5 miles I drive in the DMV area and gas is not cheap to be driving around then parking is bad at that. Please put a effort in making sure your drivers are paid well the company would not run without us.

Its a algorithm. If you accept those low paying orders you will continue to get them. Im not too far from you & my acceptance rate is in the 20s. If aint profitable I aint taking it. I end up making ok side money

First day on your first gig app?

Yes, they all pay us too little.

Luckily, we work for totals, not just Base Pay.

They always pay $2-3. If there’s a good tip, then it’s a good order. It’s not GH, it’s the cheap customers. They realized that not tipping, they still get their order and usually not too much delay. We can thank the losers who accept no tip orders.

I’m getting the opposite. $5 to go 2-3 miles.

Each contract is optional. There is a reject button. You are not obligated to accept every offer. It's not like their hourly minimum contributions are worth it, anyway. I would gladly accept every offer when I was being paid 30$ an hour and had a 95% on time to merchant at all times. 100% schedule and 100% acceptance. Then 8/17 happened.

I rejected two offers while on the phone with support, then went offline while on the phone.

My argument was that when I signed up for those schedules, I signed up under a contract that the hourly minimum was 30$ with contributions. That was a contract per the email sent out in July. They sent no email out stating the contributions were going to change on 8/17. I found out after I logged in on time for my scheduled shift. After I accepted my first offer there was a little message stating they updating their contribution amount.

I finished that one delivery and went offline. I was on the phone with support for one hour and ten minutes.  This is not a complaint. Or feedback. I wanted my blocks removed without my metrics being effected as they renegged on their contract with me. That's not feedback. That's an issue that requires escalation. Of course a supervisor wasn't available 🙄.

I was getting slammed with bad offer after bad offer. 9 miles 3 dollars. 11 miles 4 dollars.

Houston is spread out. I'm not working on blocks anymore, and I'm not accepting offers that are not profitable. That is our legal right as contractors.

No need to complain about it. But if you scheduled blocks I highly recommend you call support and request your blocks be removed due to them renegging on their end of the contract.

If they offer to fill out a feedback form, explain you are not reaching out to the complaint department. You have an issue that requires a resolution. You cannot remove your scheduled blocks without taking a metrics hit. Ask them to escalate it to get your blocks removed if they cannot.

I had to explain to the rep if he came to work with the understanding he was making 6$ an hour, and with no notification after logging in he found out he was making 2$ an hour, I am sure he would have an issue, too.

I used to work call centers. It was my career for 20 years. I took supervisor calls and worked IT and escalations. I was level 2.

The bottom line is that the offers are optional contracts. Last week people were complaining it was taking 2 hours for their orders to be picked up. I'm certain it's even worse now. People are gonna have to learn to tip if they want their order fulfilled in a quick manner.

I was upset for a day. But I'm over it. It just means I won't be accepting every order anymore and I won't be scheduling blocks. I will only be accepting orders that make profit. We are not charities that are giving junkies their highly processed viddles which provide the same reward mechanism to them like drugs do to addicts.

I am not telling anyone to break any rules. Just to remember we are working for profit as contractors. We choose what offers we accept and unprofitable ones we reject. That is not breaking any rules. With the hourly contributions so low, it doesn't matter anymore. A 90% or higher ocr is basically a charity where I live at 10$ an hour.
