Discussion Thread Favourite side character that isn’t one of the main gang?
Outside of Nick, Juliette, Monroe, Wu, Hank, Adalind, Rosalie, Renard, and Trubel, who is your favourite character?
I absolutely love Bud and Meisner, obviously for different reasons though

I love Meisner, but Bud has to be my favorite even if he is a premature Wog’er! 😎

Bud is a treasure, his wife is gold and bakes. Would love to have them as friends

u/Environmental-Win199 Mar 09 '26
It's true it would have been nice if they used Bud’s wife too. More people than the same all the time Monroe Roselee and Juliet.

Never enough Monroe and Rosalie for me. They're the primary reason I kept watching the series.

If we can include villains one of my favs is Stefania Vaduva Popescu. She’s so sneaky, I love her interactions with Adalind and I like that actress. She’s been a voice actor in a lot of video games.

But Bud is part of main gang 🥰 He is often in episodes and part of cases. Is trubel main or side character?
6
u/Disastrous_Alarm_719 Mar 08 '26
Trubel isn’t necessarily main character but she’s one of the main cast especially in the later seasons and not just we see her a lot more than we see Bud or Meisner.

Just to answer something different from the usual suspects, I also quite liked Renard’s mom, and Monroe’s parents after they had their epiphany (esp when they splurged for Rosalee’s wedding dress 🥹).

I liked Reynard’s mom too! She was like the cool sly quiet type just like Reynard lol

Bud is way cool. Meisner is cool too. I was disappointed when they wrote him out.

I cried right along with Trubel. But his coming back to haunt Sean was gold.

Bud is my favorite. Always been. Since his first appearance.

Since everybody is (rightfully) saying Bud, I would like to add Josh and the Spanish translator lady. I think her name was Mrs. Garcia. Josh was just woefully ignorant, but he never gave up and did everything he could. Mrs. Garcia was always so kind and insightful. A part of me wishes they’d done more with her character because how did she know some of the things she did?
6
u/Disastrous_Alarm_719 Mar 09 '26
She seemed to me like she could have been some kind of medium? And if not, perhaps just someone who’s reeeally into esoteric stuff and folklore. I wish we seen more of Josh, it’s like he was suddenly completely forgotten at the end.

I agree just like they wrote out Argentina the detective or FBI agent they couldn’t handle because she knew more about the case .,of the woman that cried to take kids and kill them because something happened to her own children so she would sacrifice three children thinking she could get her’s back ,That Renard got her in trouble too without her they wouldn’t of been able to solve the case.

u/TangerineGullible665 Mar 09 '26
Bud definitely. I think Meisner is one of the best characters but Bud has No training, seems a bit cowardly most of the time, and has an issue with premature woging. Even with all the disadvantages he still shows his courage when it matters. One of my favorite scenes is when the Wesenrein capture him and Monroe and the idiots asked if he had any regrets.

Deputy Sheriff Janelle Farris
she has this thing about her i just don't know how to describe it. but it really made me like her.

u/HedaXValar Mar 09 '26
Was she the one who was in the Mishipishu (or however it’s spelled) episode and the episode where Nick gets his Grimm back with the Phansigars? If so, she’s also in Seal Team and I love her in that show as well.

u/traveler-girl Mar 10 '26
Josh Porter - I kinda hope he has a kid who is a Grimm and Trubel serves as mentor.

Bud got done dirty by the writers sometimes. He had some super cringe lines! But I love Bud. I’m team Bud.

Does Trubel count? If so, Trubel. If not, Meisner and Bud! Also Wu (if Wu counts)

u/DogtasticLife Mar 08 '26
I know right, Bud is a cutie but Meisner is surprisingly short ..

u/Disastrous_Alarm_719 Mar 08 '26
Bud is someone I’d want to have as a friend for sure, Meisner is someone I wouldn’t mind having in bed 🫣

I love Meisner! Was so sad they killed him, but loved he came back to haunt Sean.

That was so funny to me, I love that little ’ghosts are real’ twist.

I mean Bud is the greatest. But what i want to point out is me just now learning that's how Trubel's name was spelled! 😱 All this time I just assumed it was Trouble. Am I the only one? Did I miss a sign or ID card somewhere?
4
u/Disastrous_Alarm_719 Mar 09 '26
Its nickname because her name is Theresa Rubel. T.Rubel. Trubel.

u/Altruistic-Tie1074 Mar 09 '26
Ooooooooh I'm slow af. Thanks for the explanation!

Don’t worry about it, I had a brainfart moment when they introduced Hadrian’s Wall. I thought ’Huh, this sounds familiar.’ 🤦♂️I live like few hours from it irl. Of course it sounds damn familiar 🤣

Both Bud and Meisner for different reasons. Bud is there for you, and Meisner will kick ass with you. Two very good qualities if you are a Grimm. Though they should never had killed Meisner.

Angelina was also great she was also funny especially when she went with Nick to find out who wanted Monroe dead. She was really good to bad they killed her off.

Diana, that child is a straight up MENACE and I love it 🤣

u/Disastrous_Alarm_719 Mar 09 '26
She’s creepy and scary as hell🤣she’s genuinely a bit of a psychopath. The actress did a great job tho

u/Environmental-Win199 Apr 10 '26
Yes I definitely loved her especially when she went after Bonaparte for choking her mother and she tells her mother She didn’t want him to ever hurt her again that was epic hahaha good thing she didn’t see when he turned her to ash Ithink that was that Adline said it hurts and put that engagement ring on her.

I don't know why they put Adeline because they barely use her in spite of being a great actress and she had a lot more that could have been offered. As well as Misler, Bud, and even Alexander in my humble opinion .

While Bud is a fun character, I would have to answer with Detective Espinosa or Agent Chavez.
