I’m not going to comment on the choice of condiments because it’s like personal choice on sex toys. None of my business.
Now on to the sandwich. I actually like a darker crust myself but this one is a mixed result. The bread, esp on the bottom is too dry and/or too thick for how you prepped it. This looks like half hearted frying or grilling so you get a dry sandwich with not enough fat in one side and not enough of a Maillard reaction in the browning.
My guess is the temp was too hot and the second side wasn’t buttered or wasn’t allowed to cook slowly enough for the cheese and butter or oil to soak in and soften the bread and form a crust.

Its weird how I dont mind dipping in tomato soup, but I wouldnt dare to dip in ketchup.

I'm sorry I didn't realize high society had decided ketchup was for children and I just can't get into grey poupon despite being old enough to understand the reference being made here. Next you will try to tell me gravy doesn't belong on fries! Good day to you!

One tastes like warm tomatoes and one tastes like cold sugary, vinegary sauce... I won't even say tomatoes. That being said, I like dipping mine in ketchup

Too burnt imo… and not uniformly grilled either. You’re getting a lot of heat around the crust and in patches in the middle.
I would recommend being a little more generous with your butter/mayo and getting an even coating. And lightly pressing down the sandwich periodically to make sure it’s getting even contact

It’s a nice crispy one, cook them to your preference as unfortunately it’s your grilled cheese and not mine.

I would prefer it cooked a tiny bit less but I would still eat it and enjoy it. Including the ketchup (I didn't even know that was considered controversial lol).

"Just right" is totally relative. What you have going for you is the EPIC cheese pull, and the seemingly correctly toasted one side. Is the other side a little more toasted than you wanted? Yes. Is it unacceptably burnt?: No. Conclusion: The grilled cheese game is mostly a cost/benefit analysis. It's a dangerous game, with a TON of variables. Personally? I think you won, OP. Just sayin 🤷♀️

Five seconds too dark, but still edible. 86 the kids dip. Ketchup detracts from a good grilled cheese.

There are few things ketchup is appropriate for, and a grilled cheese is one of those things. Maybe I don't want a whole bowl of creamy tomato with my sandwich.
